I don’t have a router. Cable internet. Green NAT. Anything more than 2 delay for GGPO is unplayable, yeah good luck trying to punish shit.
Yellow connections are random as fuck.

I’m not sure who you are talking to, but I guarantee I am more computer literate than most anyone on this forum, including yourself. I have been programming since age 6, an am an IT major working on a Master’s, and have run an online business for 10 years, and I’m a 26 year old black guy. Trust me, the little NAT settings and home networking stuff is small time friend. When you land a database management job for a large Sacramento hospital chain, then we can talk. I just thought I’d help you sort out your condescending attitude. That’s the funny thing about people in IT or people that want to pretend they are, everyone is a hotshot. It’s not until you are thrust into a field that demands true corporate level IT management and networking that you realize just how little you know.
None the less, all of what you are saying is good and well, but DMZing or forwarding ports etc still does not fix the online issues in this game. I have open NAT in every online game I play, yet it still can take 10-15 refreshes at times to get a ranked match to show up. This number increases during times of low traffic.
do you really live in sac town?
is that why you’re so dang angry
I’m not angry, I just feel that old boy could have stated what he was trying to say without being so condescending, especially when you consider that what he posted is common knowledge at this point. I don’t live in CA, I actually live in AL, but I often have to travel to CA to work for the hospital chain I am currently employed with. As of now, I am developing in-depth tutorial software for new hire RN’s looking to work on the Cerner software systems at Mercy General and Kaiser. I will be moving semi-permanently next year.
I know that may have come off as harsh, but is a a bit of a defense mechanism. When I was working towards my IT degree, as a black guy I received almost no respect, though I knew I was a good bit more knowledgeable than alot of my fellow students. I didn’t come from an affluent home, and had to earn everything myself. One thing I did/do have is a 163 IQ and a passion for computers. I’m not lying when I said that I was programming Syntax at age 6. However, due to me being black, most people discounted me, and I didn’t receive alot of the helping hands that I would have received had I been white obviously. Not trying to offend anyone, simply giving a bit of background. You have to remember, I was born in AL.
All that being said, I don’t believe in being egotistical or being a douche. I just try to be humble and help people in whatever ways I can, which is all old guy had to do in the beginning rather than having the belittling attitude about it.
Oh yeah, Chun Li can eat a dick lol.
yep well IT and 3S is similar in that everyone thinks they’re better than everyone else
My friend has been playing for years but he doesn’t have any matchup experience against Chun Li. I used to play with him (not seriously) and quit, until 3SOE came out. Maybe you should stop being a smartass? She’s incredibly safe, she’s at a clear advantage, what can you deny? I wasn’t saying that Chun is an instant win but she sure as hell gives the player an advantage. You shouldn’t lose with her unless you’re competing against a much better player or that he’s playing with the other top/high tier characters.
Also, I hope you’re not thinking that I’m whining about her. I have yet to have met an online Chun. I was just agreeing with the poster’s comment.
just weird how your friend has been playing for years but has no experience against chun
This guy is typing his whole life story like it’s some dick waving contest, put it back in no one cares
I agree that subtle racism sucks though, it even happens in the hospital I work in, black M.D. interns get shitty things to do while white people more often than not get to do cooler stuff, although this isn’t like that in every specialism. Though it is hard for someone who is white to fully understand and thus also spot it, since I never had to deal with it myself.
This thread evolved from talking about how Capcom fucked up OE, to saying how each other sucks.
scrub chun is easier to beat than scrub elena/12/gouki. especially online.
you guys just suck.
lol, who fuckin cares dude?
He did say “illiterate” that you interpretate as being condescendant (i really don’t see how and he wasn’t even talkin to you) and then you spit all your life here as answer?
I got 190 IQ, 26cm dick, 5 guitars, 3 sticks, am AIRBUS big boss, just bought half of Apple stocks and plan to buy a robot vaccum cause it’s awesome.
So trust me, i know my shit.
Oh, and to be a good srk forum user : fuck authority argument.
So, what you say is he doesn’t know Chun matchup and he lost? And you think he’s a good representation of how chun’s broken?
Does he know Q matchup? Do you play Q?
Worst post ever?
Yup, Chun actually requires that you learn fundamentals. Elena, gouki and 12 don’t. Well atleast not until you start fighting decent players.
Well fuck. I just picked up Chun as an alt, guess I’mma scrub.
It’s a good thing I don’t owe some of you guys a damn thing, if you don’t like what’s being posted then please do find another thread. I try to be civil but I don’t know any of you and I damn sure don’t owe you anything. Guy asked me why my post seemed to come off as angry, and I explained it to him. I would bet many of you have nothing to even be proud of outside of being a good 3S player. So please do proceed to go get fucked.
As for Chun, she is the least technical fighter in the game and generally requires the least effort to win with unless the person using her is extremely new to the game. You don’t have to be Kuroda to notice this, and admitting as such does not automatically mean you are some scrub. Anyone that has played 3S for any extent of time knows it to be true, regardless if you admit it or not. You can lie to yourself as much as you want.
Ok.
You tell them, ICT guy! Ironically your arrogance makes you come off as extremely condescending in the process, ergo your exactly the same as the one you were first arguing with. You obviously have some kind of anger problem or something, lashing out like that. But then again I always hated psychiatry during clinical rotations so I really can’t say. In general when people say they don’t care about something yet proceed to give (positive or negative enforced) feedback to something they usually do care. Well anyway I hope your forum tantrum is over now, you had to get it off your chest I assume.
I also like when he said ‘‘When you land a database management job for a large Sacramento hospital chain, then we can talk’’ as if his job is insanely hard or other people on this forum cannot be successful.
You are right in some ways, but it is also true that is is difficult to convey tone over the internet. You may see it as arrogance, I simply see it as telling the truth. You are targeting what I said, when the fact remains that the guy I initially responded to could have simply given the advice he was trying to give, rather than say that people will never get a good game on their dialup connections, and those that are computer literate don’t have that problem. I wanted him to know that what he was saying was a lie, as it has little to do with 3SOE’s terrible online experience. I would be the first person to accept constructive criticism, and am honestly not an arrogant person. Arrogance is a character flaw that I absolutely despise, second only to selfishness.
You have to understand that I have always had a leader mentality, I’m an introvert. So while friendship and all of that is a great thing, I can take it or leave it. It is a bonus, not a necessity. I don’t feel that anything I posted should have been seen as uncivil or deserving of degradation.
I’ve just never been the type to accept any ol’ behavior from just anyone (if it is directed towards me), and I kowtow to no one. I return whatever is directed towards me, if it is negativity that is what I will return. If it is positivity, that is also what I will return. However, I’m not trying to take how I feel out on others, so I apologize for that, to ESN especially as he is a good guy for the most part.
I disagree. Elena, Gouki and especially 12 are much harder to win with at scrub level (as you put it). Both Gouki and 12 require above average execution and matchup knowledge, and neither can take much punishment as they have the lowest defense in the game. To be capable with 12 also requires a large understanding of that character and how he should be played. As for Elena, many of her moves must be cherry picked, as throwing out the wrong move is simply parry bait that can lead to a large punish, she also has below average defense. If you take parrying out of the picture, most of her moves still have a good bit of recovery. All of these things are the enemy of someone that is truly as new as you would say.
Chun on the other hand can be played pretty well simply by knowing which normals to prioritize. All other things equal, she is the least technical fighter in this game in regards to developing a winning strategy.
How is it that the online environment is less beneficial to Chun than it is to those 3 that you listed?
