Well really we’re not going to know for another month whether or not we got screwed. I got 3 PS3 TE sticks from VGC and if something goes foul it looks like I’ll have an option or 2. Apparently the email they sent me says that if I don’t receive a pre ordered product in 30 days that they’ll refund my money. On top of that I ordered through PayPal which seems to be more secure so if anything I can just get the money charged back to the account. I’d be surprised if I receive all 3 sticks around the same date or even if I get all 3 of them in the first place. Time will tell on this one I guess.
I was thinking that some places would get more shipments in and maybe I should have waited until then. We’ll see. Definitely not stressin though.
One…becuase I’m a money hungry fool. Two because I figured that with the insane supply over demand issue with this that they will eventually be making another shipment of these any way. They’ll still eventually be really rare and profitable either way. Those 2 other people will find opportunities. I’m sure everyone’s not as rich as I am. It probably won’t make you feel better that I ordered 2 more 360 sticks earlier from altdvd.com. I have a 360 and my brother is also a tournament SF player so I might actually use one or both of those. We’ll see.
Hmmm, I work at Best Buy, and there is a sku number that can be carried in the store!
Maybe I can try to special order it to our store.
I’m also going to try to arrange a SF4 Tourney the day before it’s release and then do a Midnight Release for the game, the managers and sup’s are all in for that, they are even letting the Employees enter it.
I just pre-ordered a TE stick at game crazy, i might go back and order another one…I was looking for a copy of SF anniversary collection for the original xbox and the guy kept me on the phone trying to sell me sf4 which ive already preordered, i asked him if the TE sticks are still available and he said he received an email saying they’re now available for pre order…so yeah…hope you guys have a game crazy in your area, because you can’t purchase anything from their website.
i talked to my local gamestop and the dude said they might be getting some extras in. i’m not expecting them to but it doesnt hurt to call them everyday until the sticks arrive.
I live in houston too like that other dude, and they are not available at gamestop. When i was at gamecrazy he said they made a deal with madcatz and got some more sticks…so i dont know if the sticks are part of the original 3000 , or if more are being made…i double checked my receipt…TE stick pre order 40 bucks down…im going to be pissed if i dont get my stick, im going to go pick it up at the midnight release they will be having.
All GameStops, EB Games and Game Crazy’s have had their pre-orders cut off. Them telling you they “might” get extras is their way of trying to get you to stop calling. There won’t be any extras.
However, what you -can- do (and this is a longshot) is try to get in good with, or even bribe, the store manager of your local game store to put you first in line should any of the pre-orders not get picked up. GameStop & EB Games store policy is to hold reserved items for 48 hours, after which time your reserved game or item can be sold. If it was a limited issue item like these sticks, you’re S.O.L. if you don’t pick yours up within that 48 hours. The only limitation here, of course, is the fact that they may have too many pre-orders, and they would have to fill those secondary pre-orders before selling the stick to the general public. Example: if they get 8 reserves and only 4 sticks, and 2 of those sticks are not picked up in 48 hours, they’ll call the next 2 people in the “reserve line” and offer the sticks to them. It’s iffy, and you might have to check with several stores, but it’s worth a shot if you are truly intent on getting a stick (and don’t feel like paying ebay prices).
tl;dr - make friends with a game store manager so you can maybe scoop up an abandoned pre-order TE.
I pre ordered my stick this friday, and i’ll scan my receipt if i have to, to prove it…I made sure everything on the receipt was correct before i left, T.E. stick for the 360…I will be there at midminight to pick up my stick…well hopefully…im not sure how it works, in order of who pre ordered first? or first that come pick up their pre orders?
The GS by by my job had 3 for preorder, all 3 of them are still up for grabs cause nobody preordered it…but they stopped taking prerders for them early this month.
If I want one, I gotta get it on the 18th when the game drops.
