Yeah, that’s what has me skeptical that it was done bare-handed, especially since gouge refers to a tool.
I mean, gouging out someone’s eyes is ridiculously easy, even bare-handed, especially compared to trying to get through a rib cage. I mean, even with a huge adrenaline rush, that doesn’t seem like it would be possible. The only two ways that I could see him getting through would be either if he went under the ribcage or he just destroyed his ribcage on the left side and the bones perforated the skin from underneath, giving him an opening.
The problem with both of those, though, besides getting through muscle, is that it seems the guy would be bleed to death way before he would be able to die from blood loss solely due to losing his heart. So…?
I guess I could just chalk this either to Fox News embellishing shit or the weapon not being around/mentioned in the police report. Though either way has me wondering if there’s bare-handed thing is possible now (years after having wondered about it due to the Indiana Jones film linked earlier).
