I let them know through Hit Box’s twitter, it’s just silly to talk to the stick manufacturers about console support. We don’t have any control over that shit. As for AoC, they’d have to make a deal with Hotapen about it, and I don’t think they would like that deal.
Actually, they would have to go through Nyu-Media before even attempting to go to Hotapen regarding AoC if my understanding is correct. I’ve already talked to Seon regarding this back in November. This is the response I got:
*Hi Michael,
Thank you for your mail & I’ll be happy to clarify. Out of curiosity, are you a journalist? Or an interested forum member?
I’m not privvy to the details of the licensing arrangement between Nicalis and the Yatagarasu developers, but my understanding is that they hold the rights to develop and publish the original Yatagarasu overseas on platforms other than the PC (Rice Digital have partially localized Yatagarasu for the PC and it is available for purchase from their website, so it’s safe to assume that they hold those rights.) Note the point about development: the Yatagarasu dev team’s involvement in this is limited to provision of existing assets and approvals; all of the development work is being carried out by Nicalis.
Nyu Media and the Yatagarasu dev team are working together to produce the next version of Yatagarasu (Attack on Cataclym). The Yatagarasu dev team is developing the game with input and support by Nyu Media, and Nyu Media will localized and publish the game overseas. Presently Nyu Media hold the rights for Yatagarasu AoC for the PC only. To my knowledge, there have been no discussions about licensing AoC for platforms other than the PC, but obviously we are very keen to pursue those once the PC version is completed.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions & I’ll be happy to answer.
Best regards,
Seon*
PS: Duh. You’re MikuruX, of course. Sorry - I’m still on my first cup of tea.
Yata ended on TRB not too long ago, Mando rekt with the power of the alpaca running through Chad’s veins.
I entered the Yatagarasu tournament last night. Went 0 and 2, but both matches went 2-1. I actually ended up tying against Mondo in a Chadha mirror match, but he switched over to Crow. Fucked up a Peredu Moment input and lost it. Still, had fun and found out that I should play Jyuzumaru on a dpad

I don’t want to be nit-picky or anything, but unless I’m mistaken; Hina’s follow ups after a (b)f+P/K are a DP; not necessarily a QCF. So even though forward is already being pressed in the input, the player can just leave the joystick in the DF position.
Gah. This is why I probably should just use annotations instead of baking in the notation into the vid.
No I think the text being part of the video is better since annotations aren’t displayed on mobile phones. Good job man
banged this out after I saw peeps at TRB using some wack juggles as Crow! really looking forward to finding more stuff!

Nice. I should’ve tested that he could juggle with cr.HP after 214+LP before I did mine.
Wow those new fire effects in Crow and Kou look really cool. Glad to see that improved in Attack on Cataclysm. I felt the visual effects were the weakest part of the original version.

So, what are people’s thoughts on the game displaying hit/damage values even for single hits. I know some folks find it silly, but I really like the fact that raw damage values are shown even if it’s just a single hit.
EDIT: On an related note, I’m gonna put what few CMVs we have on the front page to see if I get drum up more interest in the game.
Personally I like that sort of thing. It’s not as useful outside training mode but it’s a nice aesthetic touch in my opinion.

I like it because it means you figure out stuff outside training mode.

Love it. Those constant reminders of what the damage of each and every move is, along with each and every combo will effortlessly ingrain that info into the player’s head.

Guys
ChrisG is playing Shimo
Guys
I’m scared
Quick! Everyone pick Shimo, go to the lab and practice LP+HP, cr. LP xx QCF x2 + K. That should counterpick Chris G’s Shimo!

Just Leebee’s and my own CMVs (though not my Crow one since Leebee’s makes it obsolete).
Wish more people were on this making CMVs for the alpha build though. I’d definitely put more of them on the front page.
I’d like to make one for Shimo but I’m not good at editing videos :(.

Loketest this weekend.
Just string the combos together. No need for fancy editing. The only thing you really need to do is just make sure there’s no excess movement in between combos.

Sound levels could use some work (should really record without the game bgm on). But overall, a decent attempt.
EDIT:
Looks like the loketest version is the same alpha version we’ve been playing.
