They possibly can if the game sells well
So just curious
Does anybody know what the story is about?
Nope. I just have a feeling it’ll be fleshed out with Attack on Cataclysm. If there was a story for the first game, then I guess they could at least put a summary or something of it into a gallery mode.
Are there even translations of the banter in the current version?
Nope.
Here is the summary of the story untranslated.
All I can make out it takes place on Christmas in 1926.
And “Light” maybe Kaigen company?
I just know that Hina really likes to talk about Civil Servants
8slot lobby up!!
Only about 6slots left open though. Better jump on it quick! Most of the players are from EC region just so you know what you’re getting into (coast-to-coast isn’t bad, however).
Jump in and go ham or just ask questions in the chat. We’ll do our best to help out!
I don’t know if this is common knowledge but if both players aren’t at the same delay there is a noticeable slowdown in gameplay, even against someone close to you in my experiences. It also helps to adjust your delay at the character screen (default O, P on keyboard) to make the character select screen as smooth as possible.
That delay applies to both players it’s not asynchronous.
Since you guys have been playing a while (I’ve been lurking), as far as “what the game plays like” I heard originally it was a mix of KOF and Third Strike. Does that still sound accurate or no? Is it closer to one or the other, or a different beast altogether?
This is actually really annoying because you get some players who have poor judgment and try to set the delay lower than what it should be, only to get exposed by stuttering in-game moments later. Hope this is resolved in future (GGPO?).
Feels closer to SF3 for me. In fact, I never really understood the reference to KOF to begin with. Having a hyper-hop and a four-button attack layout isn’t enough to really make that comparison imo. KOF is so much more than these elements and Yatagarasu is missing a load of these mechanics which I won’t even waste time mentioning.
I haven’t played the game in a while. Is there hop/hyper hop? I thought it was only 3s like Universal Overhead. And yeah the extent of the KOF comparison is just in the button layout but that’s about it. Otherwise it’s like 3s with 4 buttons for attacks. Doesn’t help that you have characters like Jet being a straight up Dudley archetype.
Ehhh, the forward high jumps in particular sort of “emulate” a hyperhop…but even then it’s really me just grasping at straws (the game is 90% SFIII clone, 10% “other” - fuck it lol).
That’s just my opinion though. Don’t see how anyone could debate otherwise but I’m open to insightful comments.

While they’re at it, they should add in Post Hits after the round ends.
…I’m guessing you haven’t played the game yet.

I own it, but based on that response it appears they are in and I am fucking it up somehow!
In 3S as you are aware, you can walk briefly the moment after the KO flashes on screen and attack. In Yata, you just get rooted in place. So if you’re saying you still can then I’m missing something.
The flow chart twins run this game online because of the lag. Can’t wait for ggpo support…
Who are the flowchart twins here?
Hina & Shimo or Crow & Kou?
you can bap people after round ends, just the window is short
the comparison with kof also comes from the character designs and the fact the team used to work with snk in the development of kof titles.
Sword girls are the flowchart twins
Really? I would’ve expected the shotos to be the flowchart twins…
