Upgraded my donation but didn’t get a confirmation that it’s been recognized yet. Anyone get an invite for the Beta forum yet? Because I think there’s two things about the game that needs adjustments.
Parry while blocking and Red Parrying. I like John’s suggestion that doing a Parry while blocking drains guard meter but I don’t know how to make Red Parry less braindead.
Adjust the Negative Edge system or adjust certain inputs. It’s not as bad as SF4 or CVS2 but it’s a very loose system. As Chowdah, if you hit cr.C then Drop Kick and you have a super bar, 9 times out of 10 you’re going to get your kick super out instead. I tested and did every kind of variation on the inputs that are possible and even if you do everything right there’s still a chance that Negative Edge will fuck you over. It applies to every character who has an SRK input. It’s extremely difficult to do cr.C, A Shoulder (SRK+Punch) into QCFx2 Kick super with Jyuzumaru because you will get the Rekka out instead.
Not related. But I was re-reading the Indiegogo page and the Devs are planning to have an online tag mode. SO HYPE for that shit! Makes me remember my scrubby days playing 4 player MVC1 on Kaillera.
Played some dudes online. Thanks for putting up with my shitty router. Learned some things. Shimo’s air sword slash (QCB+Punch) or the Shin Koenzan is annoying as fuck to deal with. It can be used defensively or offensively. It’s kinda’ braindead and frustratingly safe. I’m really salty over that and I’ll just say it now while I’m a little mad, I wouldn’t mind if that thing gets nerfed in some way. Nerf the hitbox, make it unsafe, something. The sword chicks already have some of the best pokes in the game and are difficult to read compared to the rest of the cast. That one move makes her too good. And yes I know it was even better in 4.2 it’s still a really good move.
Doesn’t help that she randomly crashes the game. Hina doesn’t crash the game nearly as much.
But overall had fun figuring shit out. You have to hit O and P to adjust Delay at the character select screen as opposed to one of the menu’s like you would expect. If you select KSK as your announcer with the Low Parry Button you hear the classic KSK chant. I don’t know how to access Murder Face. Didn’t see a single dude use Jet for some reason.
Shimo air QCB+P is stupid, but it definitely has some holes. Haven’t really had a chance to grind it out in training mode, but sometimes HIna’s reversal goes right through it. Also, parrying helps a ton.
Sisters’ buttons are pretty good, but nowhere near as good as they look. I’ve had Hina’s 5HP counterpoked by getting “hit” in the sword. Pretty sure Crow has swept me through a 5HP before too. Shimo’s air buttons (at least j.HP) cause more hit-stun. She can actually combo SJ j.HP, land, SJ j.HP. Hina can’t.
If they’re crashing your game, you probably need to go get Applocale from Microsoft.
Also, Jet’s Genei Jin is pretty OP but not for what you would expect. It’s not the juggles, it’s not the high/low game, it’s the chip damage. It’s kind of difficult to test with the dummy so maybe there is a point where you can nail his ass but all Jet has to do is activate, do HP specials and keep cancelling them and he can easily do 15% in chip from one Genei Jin.
Tried to Red Parry it and it just wasn’t working out in lag. Maybe Jet is the reason why Red Parries are so easy? IDK.
Yeah, I gotta’ get into the habit. But again, the netcode right now isn’t helping.
Sword chicks jumping normals (j.LP and j.HP) are gdlk too. But I don’t think Sword Chicks are OP aside from Shimo’s Shin Koenzan. They’re just difficult to read.
And I installed Applocale already.
PS: I submitted the news that the game is fully funded and has GGPO to Eventscrubs and they still haven’t posted it. I expect another shitty LiangHuBB, Deviant Art or PC mod video to be up instead.
