Why the hell would Yang want a hard knockdown in most cases? Other than throw, sweep or Ultra 1, Yang’s Oki is based around normal rise vs quick rise. So, yes, in cases where you’d get partial U2, you are better off using EX rollkick, to give you the techable knockdown and force the opponent to choose. You’re Yang. You build meter as fast as Yun does.

A different philosophy is not necessarily a correct philosophy. Rekka FADC ultra 1 is damn near impossible to drop if you apply a bit of controlled mashing. If you’re not comfortable, you can just launch them first then dash ultra.

You actually don’t need to dash to land the ultra, you can buffer it, hold forward at the end of the last one for a bit and hit PPP. Doesn’t work on everyone, but is much easier than dashing or instant divekick

For example, people ignored the fact you can U2 from ex rekkas in corner, mk launcher, beats out fireballs, catches backdashes off certain characters… but either way as a yang player u need to be able to use both ultras to be effective. Maybe you sacrifice damage with U2 but I feel you’re using it mainly to finish out matches with the correct hit confirm because you’ve already dealt the damage you need prior to the use of U2.
