I’ll probably end up playing Super today and hopefully will get a good look at how Yang plays, what his move properties are, etc.
I’ll post up any new/useful information I find later tonight.
UPDATE:
I played a good amount today and here is what I found (some known info):
cl.hp is a good frame trap off of cr.lp/cr.lk. I would always cancel it w/ lp slashes to hit confirm and stay safe on block.
-His sweep has good range; works well to OS sweep backdashes.
-Nice mix ups after FADC from hp Slash (2nd hit). You’re left at huge frame advantage so I mix in cr.lk and his command throw. Pretty effective.
-I mainly used his cl.mk for AA. Was able to combo ultra off it.
-Recovery on command throw is pretty awful so I didn’t abuse it too much.
Command throw feels just like it did in 3S. No biggie.
U2 combos off of EX Palm. Not full animation though.
MP xx HP xx B+HP -> EX Senkyutai works in corner. Didn’t get time to check if U2 works.
You can get full U2 animation even when anti-airing in some situations.
Slash x2 FADC U2 is very easy and not a hard timing at all.
cl.MK is a funny little mixup tool. have a play around with it and see what you can come up with.
has anyone checked to see if his u2 punishes blocked ex pyscho crusher? I’m thinking it will due to tracking. Also can you do ex palm straight into ultra due with it’s wall bounce?
I find it so ironic that everyone seemed to have scouted Yang to be the better twin yet, at least so far, I have had my fill with AE Yun footage. Perhaps expecting former S tier glory minus the SA3 shenanigans…
played Yang today and got blown up lol. does his his shorts and jabs have to be linked? i tried to c.short c.short or c.short c.jab but didn’t get anything after the first normal.
It might be possible but probably only for a punish, unless someone figures out a way to do one with the shortest activation period and how to do a damaging combo, its safe to say right now we won’t see anything but it took them a couple months to a year to find the damaging combos in 3s so before a final judgement I would say its best to wait. I’m sure someone will figure out a 60% down the road.
^^^ i doubt it. scaling really reigns in the damage of long combos in this game. what we may see is a decently damaging shorter combo into a very ambiguous mixup, into the same combo, achieving somewhere around 60% or so or more/less.
thats what im thinking yang is going to do as well, buut he wont be nearly as good at i think. however, yangs super does some seriously good damage. i activated super and hit with cr.mk xx fierce slashes and it did over 25% iirc. (to a 900 hp character)
