Yang Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

I lol’d at this. A lot. I know what you mean, but I lol’d really hard.

we need a combo thread. and also a movelist here would be nice so that total newcomers to yang (such as myself) know whats going on when different jap move names are used… took me like a month to figureout all of ibukis move names.

also whats yangs “general” neutral game like? like what pokes does he want to use, how does he want to get in, whats his “wiff spam” or you know, something he can do when not actively attacking to throw his opponent off as to him getting in via divekick or jumpin. it seems like maybe wiffed neutral jump lk dives might do ok… like cammys wiffing instant dive in super both as a fake and to get some meter… it made it harder to figure out when they were jumping in for real.

i havent used a divekick character in 4 so yang is completely new to me. i was getting straight blown up at the arcades amnd i figure that the first things i should learn is his neutral game and his basic hitconfirms.

im planning on making him my second.

any advice?

cant wait to play with yang and yun!

I’ll help you if you help my Chun! :3

I gave a description of all his moves here, but I’ll translate them for you:

Torou Zan = Mantis-Style Slashes = Rekkas (QCF P x3, or QCF PP x5).

Senkyuutai = Arcing Thigh Drill = Roll Kick = Dragon Kick (QCF K)

Byakou Sushouda = White Tiger Twin Palm Strike = Palm Strike (like Chun’s cl.hp)(QCB P, QCB LP is a feint)

Zenpou Tenshin = Forward Roll = Command Throw (HCB K)(Think Fei Long’s)

Kaihou = Convalesence? = Teleport (DP K)(Think Ibuki’s)

Raigeki Shuu = Lightning Attack Kick = Dive Kick (DF+Any Kick during a forward or neutral jump)

Ultras (and Super) are, assuming they kept the same names…

Raishin Mahhaken(Quaking Thunder Demonic Fist Break)
Tenshin Senkyuutai (Rolling Arcing Thigh Drill)
Sei-ei Enbu (Phantom Point Waltz)(Super)

I think this post will answer that question.

But, this was how it was in 3S. I’m sure quite a bit of it is similar:
Far Anti-Air attacks: Fierce, Forward, Forward Senkyuutai, C.Forward
Near Anti-air attacks: Forward, Strong, Short Senkyuutai
Best Air vs. Air attacks: [J.]Fierce, Roundhouse, Short, Forward.
Best Stun attacks: EX Mantis Slash, Byakko Soushouda
Ranged Pokes: Fierce, C.Forward, Forward, Mantis Slash x1
Close Pokes: Strong, C.Jab, C.Strong, Short
Not Recommended: Roundhouse, Drill-Kick or Teleport vs. turtles
Best combo starters: J.Forward -> Divekick, C.Forward, Strong
Most Abusable Attack: EX Mantis Slash (Combined with C.Forward)
Command overhead attack: twd+Forward (Spinkick)
Best super: Tenshin Senkyuutai (EX Meter)
Best Kara-Cancel: Roundhouse

If you want to look at his moves list, here is a nice picture.

Note that I may have had a typo or two on the button inputs. That picture is completely accurate.

Well -6 is a hell of a lot better than -14.

Yeha, I know what you mean–as I said. Don’t take offense to it or anything.

I’m not, don’t worry lol.

I’ve started up the combo thread. If anyone sees any combos that I’m missing, let me know.

yo that info is awesome man especially the paragraph under the quote THANKS!!!

if you have any chun q’s you can pm me anytime, i no longer play her. but my chun partners in crime were shizza and ark impulse.

shizza as you may know is the god mode chun… too bad he doesnt play anymore but i have lots of stuff that i stole from him LOL.

oh yeah one more thing even thpugh i didnt know the move names, i figured out the motions for some of yangs specials:

his teleport if it was a dp in 3s has been changed to a qcf+k im almost certain.

and his rolling drill AA move got changed to a DP motion… im almost certain. i think they got flip flopped. but maybe im tripping, i just think i would have remembered his teleport being a dp cause that would have seemed really unnatural to me.

ill confirm it when i go to the arcade tomorrow.

thx once again Dustlooper.

His roll kick was QCF, and his teleport was a DP. The LK version has him instantly kicking up, whereas the MK and HK (along with the EX) roll a bit before connection. they’re total troll moves.

You should print that picture and pretend that you can read Japanese.

And, I might try to record my Chun. I’m pretty failtastic on her (I’ve mained Abel for ages, and picked up Chun at the end of November).

hi guys, sorry if this was asked before

is yun/yang/ and any other AE changes going to be patched on the console version?

thanks. keep slashin.

Seems to me as if Capcom is planning on releasing another iteration of the game. Stand alone. The only way they would DLC the “next” SF in the series that is AE would be if they leave the game as is, which I doubt since they recently showed Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma in the trailer. I also have feeling they are not done announcing new characters just yet. I think they’ll release 2 more for AE. They have been kind of keeping on the low with AE since that trailer so I think they’re planning on trolling us really hard pretty soon.

To answer your question, no… I don’t think it will be DLC. I think they’ll release a stand alone game that will be 20-30 dollars imo. Because you know big corporations love the art of milking their consumers

ways to use U1 and U2:

Combo FADC, Ultra?
EX special, Ultra? (maybe corner)
brain dead target combo into Ultra? (maybe like rufus or like maybe Rog headbutt into ultra?)
Throw Fireball?
Anti Air?
Counterhit then Link Ultra?

any of this known yet?

Di,

Raishin Mahhaken has invincibility on startup, making it great against air attacks and situations where you want to interrupt your opponent. You can follow up this ultra with Standing LP, Close Standing MK or EX Byakko. Tenshin Senkyuutai tracks your opponent, but does not have a lot of invincibility, making it not good against air attacks but good against projectiles.–Quoted from Mago.

Traded or clean cl.mk AA, U2

1.Crouching MK x Mantis Slash HP (first two hits) ~ EX Focus Cancel Dash -> Tenshin Senkyuutai
2.Crouching MK x Mantis Slash HP (first two hits) ~ EX Focus Cancel Dash -> Close Standing MK -> Dash -> Raishin Mahha Ken
3. Zenpou Tenshin -> Close Standing MP x Senkyuutai HK OR Close Standing MK -> jump cancel Dive Kick MK (whiff) -> Tenshin Senkyuutai/Raishin Mahha Ken
4. Zenpou Tenshin -> Close Standing MK -> jump cancel Dive Kick MK (whiff) -> Tenshin Senkyuutai/Raishin Mahha Ken

How good is is his command grab? Is it advisable to tick into it if the opponent is blocking too much or is there some sort of weird risk?

It’s just about the same as Fei Long’s. Try using his for a while and decide what you think of it.

BTW Roll kick, FADC back, Tenshin Senkyuutai

Do we know which combos into ultra are full or halved (like fei’s FADC)

it appears that if you hit with the first it, it’s a full ultra.

U2 looks like it doesnt start the animation until the second hit though
