Yang Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Buffer the ultra during the dash.

As far as Yang vs. Chun goes, the match seems fairly even. Both have the tools to shut each other down. Just play to your strengths and it should not be a bad matchup for you…so basically don’t try to out-footsie her. Stick to dive kicks and command grabs, because her answers to those types of pressure are shoddy at best.

Spacing divekicks correctly is very important here because Chun can reversal EX Legs a blocked divekick that hits above the goods. That or she’ll just st. fierce your ass outta the air.

Last thing before I pass out - get your anti-backdash OS down pat because it’s one of her best wakeup tactics. Take that tool away from her asap.

If you don’t have ultra, meaty c.lk OS MK rolling kick or EX rolling kick should work as well.

I’m curious if c.lk OS dash rekka will beat backdashes. If someone neutral jumps, a palm should come out. I don’t know if palm would be neutral jump, though. Someone mind testing that?

Hey what are some things to practice in training mode before playing online ? So far all i been doing is trying to get combos down and getting used to Yangs normals. Is there anything else I should do ? Im a beginner with Yang and i want to become a solid player with him.

What’s the iput for that? c.lk > > QCF P or do you input another lk so it chains if they don’t backdash?

Combos goes without saying, but working on dive-kick spacing is vital. While Yang doesn’t rely on dive-kick pressure as much as Yun does, it still helps to know optimal spacing and where the height restriction on his divekick ends. Other tahn that, just get out there and play man… knowledge of matchups comes the more you play them, and it’ll let you know what you have to work on in training mode.

The height restriction is also not as big as people make it out to be. You can do your divekicks earlier than AE Cammy can, but not as low as Yun. The input needs to be precise, though - low divekick timing is not as forgiving as Yun or Rufus.

Yeah, that would be the input. But, instead of c.lk, I’m doing c.lp+lk as a late tech.

The palm is too slow, though. Not worth it.

What’s Yang’s best air to air options?

Also, this may sound kind of noobish, but I’m having some execution errors with canceling rekkas in combos off of c.MK where the negative edge gives me a command dash instead. It’s not all the time, but does anyone have any tips on avoiding that?

DP, s.mk, s.hk, jump back or neutral jump hk in no particular order.

And, let go of c.mk earlier.

I got another question, and I think I already know the answer to this, but is there any way of combo-ing out of Yang’s overhead? I land that shit A LOT online and I want to capitalize on it for more than a counterhit or a throw.

-2 on block, +0 on hit, so no. No character can follow his overhead except Dudley and a few others in very impractical circunstances.

Sorry, I was meaning any Air to Air options, not anti air. So I’m guessing it’s j. hk?

Yeah, j.hk is a dominant air-to-air move. As far as jump-ins, though, j.hp has a better hitbox.

Ah, give it about 2 weeks.
Your idea of the match up should change ;o

Why do people keep reporting c.lk as chainable? I can mash my heart out of lk and it won’t chain, you can only link it into itself.

If it hasn’t already been posted

eh? Where are you seeing this? The wiki doesn’t report c.lk as chainable.

Indeed, I stand corrected. I probably misread the wiki.

Can someone please post a video of rekka x2 FADC ultra 1 with inputs. I for the life of me can not do this and I have no clue why, it looks and feels clean but never connects. I’m buffering during dash but I cant figure out what i’m doing wrong.
