i know this might be old but i found that launching mk>qcf mk xx SA2 right before you land is quite effective though the damage counter goes down some.
It goes down way too much to be useful, unless they seriously have like 3 pixels of life.
Its not worth it, the scaling takes it so far down tha it does what, 10 points for a super bar equivalent in size to Chun’s SAII superbar? If you’re in the corner, its probably better to jab reset into a good mixup.
Hey guys, I use SA II mostly with Yang, but I feel like trying out SA III, so anyone got any good combos for it?
Plus what follow-ups can i after his Standing MK on the ground?
What a simple combo! Thanks man, will give it a try ;). BTW what should I Super cancel into this to start this combo if possible?
For any cross-ups you have to knock the opponent down for the best results so I would suggest either doing mantis slashes, close mk,palm,or throw. Basically anything that will keep them down longer then normal. Also for the cross-ups I suggest if you do something like the slashes, do them and quickly forward dash then go into SA3 because if you just do the slashes and go into SA3 you’ll be out of range for the cross-up even if you sj. Wasn’t this stated somewhere else?In some other seiei enbu topic?Anyway just search back to like the beginning and theirs a bunch of Seiei Enbu topics.
Cool, will do…and is it me or is SA II far more worse than I thought it was? Sorry if this was asked already, but what should I combo into it for extra damage?
Also what info can you give me regarding his Personal Action?
…and just to be sure…It seems Yang is a strictly (well, maybe not strictly) close range type of character right?
you really shouldn’t be comboing into it unless it’s off of his target combo (mp hp b+hp). SA2 is his best due to chunks of EX.
don’t know about his taunt, but his play type is largely ground based, once again in large part to EX mantis slashes.
You shouldn’t really be comboing into SAII because it’s shitty damage for a bar its size. Just use it to your own discretion depending on the situation (i.e. someone is near death, etc). Like Kaistar said, it’s great stock for ex-slashes which is the reason you go for SAII in the first place.
His taunt gives you an attack power increase similar to ken. Don’t know what % increase off the top of my head though.
Chances are that if it’s 3 or 2 bars then it’s the super to use. Even if it’s the most damaging super by a character if it’s only one bar and the character is a EX whore then it’s not going to be used. Take Ryu’s Shin Shoryuken, I personally use this super all the time when playing for fun but because it’s only one bar and I use alot of ryu’s ex moves, then when it’s serious I use Denjin or his SA1. Denjin I still don’t understand why it’s used so much when SA1 has two stock bars. But shit, it’s just a fun super.
Regarding his P.A., I know it increases his attack power…but can u increase it further by doing it a lot of times?
actually doing SA2 after target combo is surprisingly worth it. the games that you can play on kd are hilarious. (against makoto, for instance, double uoh to switch sides twice, very similar to when you knock chun down) i’d take the ex meter, but it’s also good for clutch situations.
blackstar: denjin is used so much because at higher level play, several very difficult mixup games occur where the damage potential is much much higher than SA1’s immediate output. see the ryu forum for more details.
When thinking about Ryu’s Denjin I started thinking about why this also doesn’t apply for Yangs SA1. How is it that Yangs SA1 isn’t used at high levels of play but Ryu’s Denjin is used when they both are one bar and dangerous SA’s. SA1 is very easy to connect if set up right and can almost act like Yun’s Genei Jin where you may be more conserved when not having meter and turtle more but when you get a full stock you start to play more of a rush down game and the oponent now has to adjust their style to you and now be more hesitent in their movments. The only thing I can come up with is that the bar is long and thats a turn off.
Some good combos I find that cause good damage with SA II are:
Jumping MK, DF+K–>Standing MK–>SA II
Standing MK–>SA II does good damage as well.
Sorry if it’s been asked, but you know the corner combo like
palm, mantis slash x2, mantis slash x3?
Well does it work on everyone, and one are the optimal buttons to use for the slashes (you know, like lp, mp, then mp, mp, hp) ?
