Jade Studios announces a new tournament season for Xuan Dou Zhi Wang. Open to all Telecom beta players, this tournament is set to take place on October 27-28 and November 3-4. The qualifying players will attend the TGA2012 Grand Prix finals in Shanghai for a chance at the grand prize of 30,000元 (about $5,000). Contrary to the Summer tournament season, this Winter season will be a 3v3 tournament making players have a team instead of 1v1. Finals will most likely be streamed via Tencent Games Arena Live starting on November 10 with finals taking place on November 11. I’ll try to post as much information as I can as it becomes available. If you’re interested in seeing the current high level play of Xuan Dou, this will definitely be a great time to do it.
Well at least Flip Bucket characters actually play different than their source material counterparts making them interesting designs instead of MUGEN taking Iori’s entire moveset exactly with no changes what so ever and putting it on Homer Simpson.
Right on all accounts and I wouldn’t mind seeing such characters get in. Basically right now, we’re waiting on the two guitar players to get put in to see how they play, I assume are coming soon. After that there’s going to be (judging by the current character select screen) 4 more characters on their way. If anything, I think a boxer is just about guaranteed, because it’s the only blatantly obvious style that isn’t represented at the moment.
Well, I was referring to insane hybrid Mugen characters. There’s a lot of them like Balrog (Boxer) with a counter and a fireball and shit. I’m still hype for this game but come on. This is legit Mugen.

And the introduction to the game mall. From the description, the game isn’t going to be pay to win or pay to play, if you want to buy characters instead of going through the in game unlock requirements you have a choice. It also looks like a hint towards the new CoolB outfit.
I don’t think it’s about making money. Also, if you don’t think there’s going to be much room for cosmetics, you haven’t been keeping up with this game.
