XCM XFPS 3.0 Sniper Plus

Has anyone tried this converter out? My main interest with it is its ability to use PS2 controllers on the 360. For those of you who have used it, does it work with sticks like the HRAP and MAS. This little sucker ain’t cheap but seeing as how coming across an HRAP-EX or heave forbid an HRAP-EX-SE is next to impossible this might be my only hope of using a quality stick on the 360.

bump because I’m also interested in people’s experiences with this.

Lagless or not?

Markman & others have stated in the convertor compatibility thread that it is lagless on non-digital pcbs. Meaning if the PS controller you’re using has no analog buttons it’ll lag.
I own the XFPS pro (white ver.) and have stated before that it lags with my DS2, but after further testing I found that there is no noticeable lag. But it does lag on my PS2 Nuby SF 15th anv. pad.
The way I test for lag is I get 2 controllers side by side; pick the same 2 characters is VS. mode;put the 2 facing each other;hit each other with the same button like jab;rinse and repeat also trying different inputs like fierce. The trick is timing the different dead zones of each button(hitting at the same time), but if there’s any lag you’ll notice a consistency with 1 player always or most of the time hitting first.
I’m in the process of building a new stick and will be using an early DS1 pcb, and it too has no noticeable lag. One of the main drawbacks to using this setup is that sometimes either the left or right direction input gets stuck. This has been confirmed by other users as well. Also, you have to have a wired 360 pad initially connected to the XFPS in order for you to use a PS controller.

Oh I see, I have a PS1 joystick with stock PCB in it so I’m pretty sure it would be a digital PCB rather than analog so it’ll probably lag :S

I also didn’t know you need a wired 360 pad as well.

Thanks for the info!

Does this happen with real Sony PCBs like the PS2 and DS that you mentioned? Just trying to clarify.

Yes, it happens with anything I’ve plugged into the PS2 port.

What about with USB devices? I’m thinking of using it with a PC Sega Saturn pad or a PS2 Saturn Pad.
