XFPS 3.0 Sniper Plus ~ $90 +Shipping
Pros : Lagless (stupid_nerd, Markman) unless PCB is digital only (Markman).
Cons : Expensive
”
Than it should be lagless unless it’s a digital only pcb. So I guess if your stick has a hacked controller inside it should be ok. Some retail stick pcb’s maybe not.
Hi. I’m curious how you came to this conclusion that this is a lag with the usb ports. Seeing as the Cthulhu is queried for status every 10ms, the Xbox controller is queried every 4ms, and I could even kick the Cthulhu up to 1ms refresh. Please explain.
No, your Playstation 2 version TE stick should work just fine with the XFPS Sniper.
(For the humor impaired, there is no Playstation 2 version of the TE)
1 frame is approximately 17 milliseconds.
Ideal (unnoticeable) delay for fighting or rhythm games is 8 milliseconds or less, or 1/2 of a frame.
Acceptable (playable) delay is 9 to 34 milliseconds, or 1/2 of a frame to 2 frames. Note that while gameplay will still be affected by a delay of 2 frames, most people will still have a difficult time noticing the difference immediately.
Unacceptable (unplayable) delay is over 34 milliseconds, or anything higher than 2 frames. Typically, this is a point when timing-sensitive gamers will even feel a delay at the menu screen or with the cursor when selecting a character.
So it seems this converter is producing 1 frame of lag, better than I thought it would be.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like getting a dominator just to mod the lights and maybe even make them light up in some crazy sequence? xD
Anywho, I hope you get that adapter soon Markman. Very interested in your review as I have a few friends who for some reason or other, rely only on me for info on video games and home electronics >>;;;
Well that sucks. Are they still sending you the XCM 360 to PS3 adapter? If you’re unable to review it, then we’re going to have to go by the words of others… >_>
This is rather unprofessional of me, but I think it is good news that they are looking into it. I don’t normally post/paste emails.
Here was my reply…
"Some feedback. Some people have been using it with fighting games, namely arcade sticks. Since the arcade sticks are digital signal only, they have been having trouble with input lag and performing moves/combos with strict timing.
If you can design it with both digital and analog signals in mind, I think it would make for a great product.
Hmm, so what’s the final word on this converter? I’m glad they are redoing it to make it better, but I doubt they’ll be releasing anytime in the near future. I’m trying to figure out if I should buy the converter or get an MC Cthulhu.
