Got mine today. The revised version that supports rumble and doesn’t disconnect anymore…
Tested it with the following:
Hori Real Arcade PRO EX
Hori Fighting Stick EX2 (Dead or Alive 4 Edition)
Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick: Tournament Edition
I didn’t get to test too long… but I tested with Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.
The converter has issues with all above sticks when doing sliding/rolling motions with the stick.
For example an instant deathfist with Paul (QCF+2) or Bryan’s Jet Upper (f,b+2)…
I was able to do some shining wizard juggles. I did not notice a difference in lag using a TE in LS mode vs DP mode. It does lag. But how much it lags has not yet been determined. I will have to test with more games soon.
I’ll test more thoroughly over the weekend. But as far as initial impressions go, it’s not good. I will test further with a SF4 FightPad and a first party controller.
Okay, now I’m pretty sure this thing doesn’t lag. It is the dropped inputs while doing moves with rolling/sliding inputs that gives the illusion that it does lag.
What does that mean for competitive gamers? Forget about wavedashing with Mishimas, forget about clutch shoryukens, forget about any complicated motions.
Thanks for the review. I can only hope it’s a faulty rumble or turbo feature interfering. My guess is that it should only be used with ‘DP’, but I know you already tested it in that mode. It seems that dropped inputs might be fixable with a firmware update?
While most veterans here might say there’s no need for this thing since most people have Playstation sticks, but with 360 being the most popular hardcore system on the market, most new SF4 players will be on 360. If this product works well, people with Playstation sticks won’t have to buy and get used to a 360 stick just in case a tournament is held on 360.
XCM and MADCATZ are Buisness partners HAA HAA. Honestly i think the real issue is already stated. You can judge from their videos that all they test is FPS games. I have one of the Sniper Green Colored Xfps and it lagged like hell from the jump on a ps2 pad, arcade stick, or W/E else you wanted to use. I think this will follow along with the PS3 pad on 360. Im currently looking into Learning to Solder and a Cthulu Board. Instead of spending another dime on their products.

I’ve got the XCM XFPS-360 Sniper plus, also. I used it for SF4 and PS2 controller on my 360. I didn’t notice lag, but mine did periodically disconnect on me. 6-7 times in a month. Its possible however that it does lag and I’m just not good enough to notice. How noticeable is the lag you speak of?
