I recently switched to fiber (150 down/30 up). Bandwidth seems great and so does ping. But my in-game experience in USF4 hasn’t been very consistent. My XBOX is in a DMZ with port forwarding set up - no warnings about NAT type etc in network diagnostics. I play mostly green bars but even so my games ping pong between smooth as silk and unplayable. Of course I know that you are going to get some variability but I find it hard to believe that I can run into 10 green bar opponents in a row and not have a single playable connection. Xboxers, is this just how it is or is there something wrong with my connection? I have been experiencing this problem intermittently since switching to fiber two weeks ago. Any help appreciated.
This will happen in a lot of scenarios if you use wireless. Instant green bars are also usually not good connections to look for.
If you don’t, well…you still have to account for the other person’s connection. I would do some diagnostics on the connection to see if consistency or packet loss is a problem, because that’s not normal.
I’m playing wired and the connection tests out fine - bandwidth is good, ping is stable, not much jitter.
