Can someone give me the scoop on trading the old system in to Gamestop? How much will they give for the arcade system? I also have an old 360 that E74’d on me, do they check the system to make sure it works? I would think they do but just asking.
Last night I played Protect Me Knight with some friends and that shit is way too fun. Definitely worth the 240 points.
Also started playing Red Faction Guerrilla. The game is a lot more fun than I expected it to be.
I have a question. I have been noticing that my Xbox 360 glitches out when I play a game that has bright flashing effects. For example, when you play the single player mode in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and defeat Shao Khan, the game flashes white. While the game’s special effects were flashing, my Xbox 360 suddenly just went to a black screen and stayed that way until I manually powered the console down. I am able to turn my console on and start playing again, but unfortunately it has done this quite a few times with a number of games now.
I have had my 360 for several years (it’s one of the original 20gb versions), but I’ve taken really good care of it (keeping it properly ventilated, making sure the console and room is dusted off, not playing for long periods of time, etc.), and I’m probably the only one in my group of friends who hasn’t had to replace his console yet.
Anyway, does anyone know if this is a known problem, or is it a rare case? Is it something minor that I shouldn’t be worried about, or is this an early sign of my 360’s demise? I know that I could trade-in my 360 as credit towards a new slim, and was previously thinking about it, but I kind of want to keep it, since it’s a launch console (so far the majority of the consoles I own have been the launch versions, and they all still work, even my old school NES that came bundled with R.O.B.).
They checked mine (just got it back a month ago). They gave me 100 for the system (1 controller, AV cables, Power) and going to bring back my HDD for another 30 bucks off.
One thing I didnt know/research when I bought the new one is that there is NO memory card ports! Got to think of a way to get my game saves from the memory card to the new system
USB stick.
I’m surprised more people aren’t complaining that their proprietary memory units can no longer be used with the latest 360 SKU. People went ballistic when Sony took out the media card readers, and they weren’t even used for gaming related stuff
Dunno about the card readers since I got a PS3 slim, in other words it didnt impact me personally, but I guess people is not doing a big deal of the 360 thing because the general concensus is that a generic USB stick is preferable than proprietary memory units.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-fable-iii/700821 Well, right off the bat it sounds like they’ve at least tried fixing horrendous co-op mode from Fable 2. Of course, the smart-ass response might be “yeah, Peter Molyneux says a lot of things…”. I still have hope. Fable 3 is looking good to me so far. Heh, I expect the main character to be hilariously overpowered yet again though…suddenly I want to play part 2 again, bringing my Aizen Sosuke rip-off character out of retirement for a few last adventures.
For sure. I agree with the decision, but then again I’m pretty sensible and reasonable when it comes to things like that. I actually purchased one of the memory units to transfer my game saves from my friend’s 360 to mine when I purchased it, but now I don’t care that much because of the USB/flash support.
My thing is, PS3 always had USB/flash memory support, and people were still in an uproar over the loss of the media hub (even though it also supports an external one). People are just wacky.
Well i no longer have my job, so im thinking of getting in back to some gaming. I was going to pick up Tales of Vesperia along with Tropico 3. Anyone have any comments on Tropico 3? Also looking for more games like Civilization or Romance of the three kingdom type games…Thanks
Did you guys notice the switch in system design between Sony and M$? The 360 S now has touch sensitive buttons, a swappable HDD and internal wifi. The Slim PS3 now has mechanical power and eject buttons. Somebody isn’t telling us something. Talk about things that make you go hmmm.
Nah it’s still proprietary, just internal now. I liked it being on the outside & easily detachable. But I guess the USB-flash drive update kind of compensates for it.
If you want to add to the list though, fat 360 had a matte finish and now sports a glossy surface, with the inverse applied to the fat/slim PS3.
I’ll miss the look of the old 360 (the mobos not so much). I think I will go ahead and scoop up an Arcade when I start to notice them disappearing from shelves.
I still haven’t gotten a 360 yet. Which one is the best to get? I’m liking the Xbox Slim so far. Lots of memory and I think built-in Wi-Fi.
Anyway, is there any point to getting a U.S 360 over a Japanese one? I want to play games like Senko No Ronde DUO but I don’t think you can play it on a U.S console.
