So, MS is releasing a first party version, but we can still use our own third-party drives right?
Just making sure as I thought MS was still only selling their HDD’s and allowed third-party’s to manage the 16GB limit they allowed.
The exact same thing happened to my 360 in September of 2008. Yes, it will cost you to have it repaired. It’s a GPU error but it can still turn on, output sound, load games, and everything else except for output video.

I just told them like… Ive been a customer for like 3 years and blah blah. Depending on how old your console makes it even easier. ask aren’t they supposed to be covered blah blah. make a small fuss until they caved.

Been achievement hunting lately. Finished a couple of games and started thinking. What do you guys think of a trading type system on here? For example, I beat Army of Two and probably will never play it again. I’d want to play the first Bioshock. If anyone has that and wants one of my games of relatively similar value we could exchange through the mail and keep tabs on who has what. Obviously I’m not suggesting any random dude can come on here with a new account and be like “lets trade”, but I was just thinking out loud.
I realize the potential problems this could create but it would be easier to spend $2 on mailing a game than $20 to buy it. What do you guys think? Again, It was just a thought.
If you want to whore out points the best way would be a rental system like gamefly. Games come in fast and you have a flat monthly fee.
Speaking of which. I’ve been sitting on magna carta 2 for a while now. It just blows ass in so many directions. I gotta return that shit and get something else.

Edit: Never tried Gamefly, do the games in come in as quick as Netflix movies do? I have a Netflix warehouse about 30 minutes from my house so I get them pretty quick.

Has anyone been able to connect their iPhone 3g to their 360 and use it as a source for music? My tower is out of action until I get a new desk.

I’ve hooked up my mp3 player to it before. The maximum playlist size was like 20 songs or something stupid like that. I don’t remember much about it. The most I do remember was it was pretty bare bones in terms of options. Not the best MP3 playing device I’ve used.
It’s still going on, there were some screens put up about 5 days ago, in fact.

Now if only they’ll add support for adding music to the hard drive by means other than burning an audio CD and ripping it onto the HDD.
