You forgot Captain America comes out later next month. I got my money on Captain America though as being best comic based movie.
TDK was a great crime movie.
It was an ok comic book movie.
Batman Returns is a great comic book movie.
Just got back from it and I enjoyed it a lot. Couple great cameos and some nice easter eggs for comic nerds.
Waaaaay better than X3.
Emma Frost is easily the worst part about the movie. January Jones is shit-terrible.
Nothing she said had any life to it at all.
Loving the hate filled comments from some folks before even watching it…
How to review a film:
See the film
…???..
Write a review.
How not to review a film:
OG Film was epic.
No way New Film will be as epic.
Therefore, I’m on the ropes whether to see New Film.
//whilst ignoring reviews that have been posted in the thread.
I didn’t make a claim you assume shit. I hate Mcdonald’s for one so why would I do that ? and I never played WoW so why would I do that? Do I really have to get into how advertising, marketing, and quality goes hand in hand with money? You’re intelligent enough to figure out yourself.
Fam, it’s on par with X2, go check it out its a solid movie.
Also I see peeps naming comic book movies and not one mention of Ironman 1?? c’mon Ironman gotta be top five no?
Specs basically wanted you to prove that a movie making more money=good.
I want to mail the doctor a thank you card, I kept both of mine but had one ‘fixed’…and almost exactly a year later (within a week or so) I had my first son. /derail
My friends who were bashing it seemed to be riding the ‘cannon’ train. I’m planning on approaching it like a Marvel ‘reboot’ so that won’t be an issue for me, plus I only know a few of the mutants as I’m not a comic book geek in the slightest anymore. I retired a year or two after Supes died/Batman got his back broke. I just pop my head in to see whats going on/who She-Hulk is sleeping with now/who’s dead, again.

I never made that claim. He assumed I did. I don’t speak everything that I think.
Well I got to be real, are we talking ‘this generation’ of comic book movies - like the last decade or so? Or are we talking all time? I mean you got Superman 2, X2, Spiderman 2, Batman 2 (well for me anyway - Danny Devito = teh shit), etc. In modern times though, yeah top 5. IM2 not so much…granted I think Hulk 2 was worthy of top 5 of current gen comic movies. I have hopes for Green Lantern…so long as Idris gets cast for John Stewart in a sequel (>_<)

What about Scott Pilgrim, Kick-Ass, The Rocketeer, Blade 1, Batman Begins?
I really, really want Captain America to be good, but I have concerns.
First of all:
Second of all, yeah, you really do have to explain. Because, given the very real fact that quality things exist that haven’t made money and shitty things exist that have, saying stupid shit like “oh yeah, well, if First Class is as good as TDK let’s see it make the same sort of coin” really does warrant explanation.
Or continued stupidity, which appears to be your preference.
You’re approaching it the way I am. I’m pretending the X-Men movies before this didn’t happen, and this is a new take on the live action X-Men stuff.
I’m glad you didn’t end up losing your ball but now must resume my search for another testicle to complete my set.
One thing about Magnus:
Spoiler
As soon as he kills Shaw (with the Charles fullscreen assist) he levels up and learns Fly/Unfly and Hyper Grav, on some rpg type shit. I expected it to happen, but they could have shown him trying to practice doing it. Better yet, he could have wrecked Shaw’s goons off the jump, and then taken him out.
Just came from a $5 matinée, I can honestly say I would’ve paid full price for this. It’s quite solid.
Lol yup you are right, completely forget about Cap. I hope it does well.
I’m ‘meh’ about Cap’A…I like the actor, even watched the movie ‘Push’ because of him, but I’ve just always felt underwhelmed by Cap’A in general. I’m still trying to figure out why people like him shrug
- :bluu:
Cause he is written by a crazy good writer.
Geez do I really have to explain this. Sucessful movies have been successful mostly because of advertising and marketing because if someone didn’t know that such movie didn’t exist then it couldn’t have made much money. Advertising and marketing isn’t the only factor that plays into money, quality does too. Having a film that the general public believe is good will create more free advertisement that is called word of mouth. The Dark Knight didn’t get all that money solely on marketing/advertisement it also got it from providing a well made film. When people have seen the film and really liked it they tell their friends, family, co-workers, etc about it and get them to go too. If it had all that advertisement and had the bad quality of (insert movie here) people would not recommend it to people they knew and would go back and see the same movie 3 times.
This movie also had a lot of advertising done for it as well so it should bring a lot of people/money just based on that. It could provide additional money if a lot of people see it, like it and recommend it to people they know and/or rewatching the film. In that case if more people who like it (quality), see it (money), recommend it (quality + money) then in that case more money coming from that department says something about the quality which is an objective thing.
You’re telling me you didn’t know this already?
But even if this movie doesn’t rake in the billion dollars that TDK did, it doesn’t take away the fact that this movie is on par if not better than TDK. I’m pretty sure First Class will make back its money especially after all the good reviews pouring out so far.
No. You are not qualified to explain shit, and 99.8% on the drivel I snipped from your quote is MovieBob-level ad-hoc reasoning mixed with outright fabrication.
Part of the reason you get rightfully shat on is because you spew nonsense and then act like a bitch when called on it. Stop doing both. Or stop being surprised at the deserved ridicule you attract.
