You guys do now Bryan Singer is working on this movie, right?
For some reason I think is going to e the best X movie. Maybe not as accurate but best to date
And this is why the studio always wins. Nerds and geeks across the internet will type until their fingers bleed about continuity, not following comic lore, etc… but we’re always the first ones in line with our wallets open. Damn you white shadow for reminding me.
yep, the whole time I reading it I’m like…man this looks bad, I guess I’ll stil lsee it though…
taps foot for a Deadpool movie
- :bluu:
I know movie is gonna suck. Still gonna see it. Did same with Wolverine/X-Men 3/Fantastic Four/Hulk/Ghost Rider/Elektra. Hate myself afterwards.
This is the cycle of many others as well.
I am a comic book geek, now while comic book continuity does erk me a little bit it doesn’t deter me from that fact that I paid for a movie to be entertained. If the movie entertains me then it did it’s job and I am happy despite the facts being wrong. A lot of Marvel movies entertained me despite being bad so at least I go what I payed for.
Marvel needs to make another Howard The Duck already…

I know once I say that I’m not going to see a movie that’s exactly what I do. As for this well the comment about Twilight girls probably liking it has turned me off a lot.
Also there is a Deadpool movie in the works. There’s already a script out for it.
Still haven’t watched Iron Man 2 and a bunch of other superhero movies, have no intention to. Green Lantern’s already on my ‘never watching unless I have the flu and don’t care what I’m looking at’ list as well. This movie otoh looks mildly interesting here and there, but it’ll wait till home video.
Movie looks fuckin badass!
I unno who the x-men are but Magneto isn’t some old *** (quit literally Charles*)
he still a jew, but w/e
he is gonna fuckin shyt up!
Hollywood gonna put a spin on the X-men, o well… movie looks awesome and if the plot SUCKS, the SFX will be legit
I actually like James McAvoy and Rose Byrne, so I’m looking forward to see if they show the Prof. X - Moira McTaggert love connection.
This looks so bad I almost wish they had just made Xmen 4. At least then we could get a conclusion to Xavier’s re-appearance at the end of the credits. Definitely not watching unless a friend gets it.
I don’t really care too much about continuity and accuracy so much when I see a movie based on another property, more about the quality of the film and whether things like the plot and characters are convincing and consistent within the film itself.
You’ll never get decades of comic book continuity in a film, and time lines will always have to be retconned- for instance making Magneto a holocaust survivor made sense in the 60s, but now wouldn’t work as he’d be too old.
As long as the film is decent enough and makes sense I don’t really care if Havok isn’t Cyclops brother or mutants from different generations are lumped together. If they make it faithful to the comic origins stories then the other X-Men film make no sense, which would be more confusing to the viewer (i.e having Iceman, a teenage rookie in the other films suddenly an original X-Men which would be worse.)
This movie > x3…then its koo
looks fuckin serious and its comin out soon.
It’s ok. This movie doesn’t make sense anyway. It’s on it’s own in a far away world.
I’m sorta with you, though I take exception to changes to a character that make little to no sense - such as Deadpool in Wolverine, or when it serves no REAL function (like killing Cyclops in X3 simply because he was filming Superman). Sticking to what we know leaves nothing interesting. I could really give to royal fucks about Spiderman 1…it was boring as shit to me. Hell origins usually are as you either know most of whats going on, or well you know whats going on minus the little twist here and there.
I have absolutly no issue with the concept of the movie and tons of issues with execution of it all. It serves NO purpose…it feels like its tacked on for more money and does nothing to further the Xmen movie lore…think of it as F&F3 - where they give a nod to the rest of the series in the last scene…and no real point.
- :bluu:
Shoot that was more of a cock tease than a nod but whatever.
As far as Xmen first class is concerned, it looks pretty good and i already watched some of the character videos so far and i like what they’re doing with Banshee and Beast. I’m kinda confused though on Havok cause the way they are doing his powers is different than in the comics.
lol As I had previously said.
Have you guys checked out the movie trailer and the individual character trailers? You should be able to find them at MTV news or any other pop culture website. Anyhow, I thought this movie was going to be a mess until I started seeing the trailers. It might not be a super action heavy story but it looks like we’ll get some really good character-oriented storytelling. I’m actually excited about this now. I like the idea of having a story about Charles and Eric forming the school together and having all of these young characters figure things out under the guidance of these two philosophical opposites.
You know you’re gonna get teary eyed once Eric betrays Charles and leaves the school he helped build.
Prof. X and Mags relationship and Prof. X and Moira relationship need to be central in order for this thing to work for me. The teeny-boppers are there for the Twilight crowd who’ll like this movie regardless.
Stop mentioning Twilight. It makes me angry.
This is the mutant version of Twilight, there’s really no getting around it. I mean, they casted an actor who was actually in Twilight, then they casted an actor who appeared in a Taylor Swift video. I know it sucks, but the producers of First Class throws so much “Tiger Beat teeny-bopperzzz!!!” in our faces, it’s kinda hard to ignore.
