Movie is a 3 out of 5. Saw it again for a second time. My issues is how Fox tells people prior to the movie dropping that this movie ignores X3 and Origins which is fine by me. BUT then the movie contradicts itself and goes further than that and pretty much cancels out X2 and The Wolverine as well. Honestly, this movie was like a bootleg version of Flashpoint since it resets everything.
So looking at the Rotten Tomatoes rating http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/x_men_days_of_future_past/
( higher than all other X-flicks and Winter Soldier), and reaction on this thread…
2 things…
- What do RockB and apocalypse have in common?

Probably was broke from prison by later or managed to escape in some form.
Yeah, that’s what i hate about the movie. We are really left with “probablies” in filling the holes, which is bad writing to me.

Check better. At the end of X3 there’s a post-credits scene where Xavier wakes up in the body of an old guy in comma. According to the writers, he was Xavier’s twin brother.
This should have been addressed in the movie. Why in the hell would they choose viewers to go on an assumption game? You think some guy going into a mysterious unmentioned twin brother who never appeared in the past movies or comics (i recalled he had a twin sister in the comics) should be worthy of a 1 min dialogue?

Again, check better. In the end of X3, Magneto manages to movie a metallic chess piece, so the mutant cure was not permanent.
Yes, we all saw that but then again “HOW”? Was the cure temporary, was his power level to strong for it? Did Prof-X or Beast like give him some meds to regain his powers in a scene unfilmed and prior to that last scene with the chess?
Spoiler
Writers say it comes from the idea of the comics of a “secondary mutation”, Kitty had the power to make people pass through objects, later she learned how to make consciousnesses to pass through space and time.
Bad writing too. So the writers will insert something in the character that isn’t in the comics or in the past movies and just explain it on the web instead of the movie?
You see, the answers to these questions are “probably”, “the director said this”… these are really big questions and they are seriously dumb to think no one would be asking themselves this during the movie. What the fuck kind of director would leave it to the interwebs to fill in plot holes and not make 1-3 minute dialogues?
I hope theres an extended cut on BD
Did you seriously just try to tell me wolverine wasnt one of the main focuses of this movie? … … … … . Dear lord… You realize they switched the whole story of the original to sending wolverine back in time instead right? lol
^ I wouldn’t call him the focus though. The main crux of the present day conflict which takes up most of the movie was Prof/Mags/Myst.
He was one of the leads, but for perhaps the first time since FC, not the focus.
He was actually in a supporting role, b/c lets face it Kitty, while famous and known to comics fans, was only focused in X3, with brief cameos in X1 and X2.
For good or ill, the general audience sees Jackman as the face of the franchise.

I like how you post DAYS AFTER I said it was a good film.
And it’s not as good as Winter Soldier but it’s still a good film.
Dangerous J: RockBogart’s number 1 fan. Nigga only post in Lounge when it’s about me. I’ll send you that autograph later in the week little man.
It still didn’t beat X3 in the box office
Who cares about X3. Its shit. I care about the overall film , not money made.
If the BP film ever comes out, I’ll hate on it blindly too and then reverse my position when I know Im in the wrong :wgrin:
Also, Im 6’1 lol. Why would someone hire a 5’10 nigga for a security job lol?

And let’s not act like Singer didn’t see First Class as a way to unfuck what he started.
Well, i thought he re-fucked it with the havok thing.
I didn’t go back and watch any previous installment, so its hard for me to complain about incontinuities, to me it just looked like they decided to retconn X3 out of existence…not a bad move at all.

Couple of random notes though looking through the thread.
- Bonerine had ALL the adamantium ripped out…not just the claws. Proof, him going through the metal detector and being caught off guard because it didn’t go off. In order for Magneto to ‘throw him away’, he wrapped him up in rebar also.
- In the ‘X-Men NOW!’ timeline, we actually don’t know what claws wolverine has. Not a single time since he woke up did he unsheath, so he could still be Bonerine for all we know.
- I’m still in shock at them having such a large cast - almost X3 like - yet never feeling like there was too much going on. It was pretty masterfully balanced. Ink had the Phoenix Force tattoo on.
- I’m salty as shit though…first Darwin was given too much energy and blown up (I still hope he’s on the moon) and this time, the Sentinels overload Bishop to blow him up too? On top of that the first two people killed by the Sentinels? Storm & Bishop…WTF Fox…why you killin the black people like that? Obama is President, we should be past that.
- The dude who played Trask - he was also on Nip/Tuck, you know he nailed his role, when his size had absolutely no baring on the role.
- Jennifer Lawrence has me reconsidering this whole marriage thing. I don’t care that she was blue. And the way she moved was ridiculous…and awesome.
- Swagneto was about ‘dat life’. Stitch myself while researching my next move…
- McAvoy’s acting was ridiculously sharp and believable. Kudos
- Something that is disheartening though - Angel is DEAD…so he won’t be ‘Archangel’ in AoA  The metallic wings have been a X-men ‘favorite’ for me personally, despite them not being permanent and reverting back to shit for stuffing pillows.
All in all, I was caught off guard by how good the movie was. I think a 90+ on RT (last I looked) is too high compared to say Winter soldier (I’d have no qualms calling them equal), but X3 and first wolverine were so bad that I lost ALL faith in the series - and couldn’t have anticipated something so ‘watchable’.
Now I need a primer on Apocolypse and that whole arc…it’s been soooo long

Unreal, it wasn’t ripped out. He never had it in the first place.
Yes, Bishop has limits. This is not new.
The Angel they’re talking about isn’t Warren. Warren hasn’t been born by this point. They’re talking about Lenny Kravitz daughter who played a Latina.
:lightbulb goes off about ‘when’ this Wolverine is…:
You’re right.
I’m not so much sour about Bishop having limits - especially with how bad everyone was getting sonned…I mean Colossus…caught the Sin City…its just that the only one to die in FC was the black guy, and the first two to die in this one…in the last part…are the black people.
Ah, yeah I thought she went by something else since she was a bug. I really don’t remember too much about FC at this point except Darwin getting short changed haha, my salt meter is at dangerous levels about that…he had one of the coolest powers of the cast they chose.
- :bluu:
I think they should do a FULL reboot of the X-men which is sad because Jennfier Lawrence, Fassburn, and Jackman just play their characters so well. Maybe they should make a live action series just like DC with arrow or something… idk. The movie was nice but i just don’t think it took care of the massive burn the x-men movies did.

The budget for a live action xmen show would be retarded
It’s not feasible IMO. Hell, Flash is probably burning holes through CW’s pockets right now and that’s just 1, maybe 2 niggas on screen at a time with powers they have to provide special effects for.
I can’t even imagine how much it would cost with the whole cast having powers.

I didn’t go back and watch any previous installment, so its hard for me to complain about incontinuities, to me it just looked like they decided to retconn X3 out of existence…not a bad move at all.

The chick angel is dead, not playboy billionaire angel. Buut, the kid hadn’t been born in the 80’s so unless they flash forward again, which i think they wont, you wont see archangel.
Avengers 2 Quicksilver is gonna suck so much poppycock compared to this one. He was like a white® Michael Jackson, just magic
I personally like this movie compared to the other xmen movies. The whole time I was watching it I thought to myself, If the super sentinels were merking all the mutants how would it play out against the other heroes and villains in the marvel universe because I just dont see the sentry getting merked by them at all. Was this story just xmen related and do the other people like hulk count as mutants too since they’re not human. excuse my dumb question im not too knowledgeable to this things.

The comic story was only published in the Uncanny x-men 141-142. But the story from old Kitty stated that the Sentinels soon began killing ALL super-powered beings including Hulk,Spider-man , Captain America, and Fantastic Four in the future. Franklin Richards is part of the resistance in the future, but the actual story involves primarily X-men characters.
That was one thing that always bothered me-- How in the fuck did the Sentinels take over? I could see them taking down a few super-powers by surprise, but Dr. Doom? Ghost Rider? the Incredible HULK?
C’mon Son™…
You gotta remember Sentinels weren’t jobbers at a certain point.
Present day Ghost Rider and Hulk power levels? Not a chance in hell Sentinels work. Back then though I could see it.
I have no idea why they went after Daredevil and Iron Man. They are human. One in a costume and the other one wearing a metal suit of armor who probably have supported the plan (yes Civil War still makes me salty ).
