That review gives me some hope. I think it could be pretty good and interesting. I am not a avid follower of the comics only watched the 90s cartoon as a kid so maybe the fact it might not follow closely to the original material turns some people off but, I am excited to see Hugh Jackman play wolverine again good enough for me.

I enjoyed first class but I didn’t consider it a x-men movie.
I just thought of it as a new movie that has people with powers in it since it has absolutely nothing to do with x-men on any level.
From my experience, geek/nerd blogs are easier on comic movies as are many European critics…
I’m sure the US critics will be much harder on it.
Or gasp , it may actually be good… :crazy:
Iron man 3 got good reviews so I’ll remain skeptical until I see it.
I agree that X-men 3 and the Wolverine origins movie was bad. However First class X-men one and X-men 2 were all solid movies imo. So they have had as many good as bad and they are due for a good one. The Wolverine meets Japan movie was decent but not great imo.

After the unfair trashing Amazing Spiderman 2 got, I’m not buying into any movie reviews, positive and negative.
They were harsh,but not out of line . If the RottenTomatoes were raised to 65% overall, I would think that would be more accurate imo.
Still think the spiderman reboot should never have happened…
For every step they take forward to pull themselves out of the abyss, Fox takes two steps back…

It doesn’t say for what movie, but if donner is confirming now, its probably for Apocalypse. (Singer has hinted towards Gambit and maybe Kurt being part of the lineup in XMA)
I guess they want to attract more vaginas to the X-flicks and more of the general audience, but I’d rather they brought back Kitsch or hire an unknown.
the only Tatum film i liked was 21 jump street, but only b/c Jonah Hill propped him up lol.

I’ve got no issue with Tatum as Gambit actually. If they go with an outfit somewhat close to traditional - he’ll fill it out perfectly. He’s got the facial structure, and with his name comes some credence that Gambit won’t be a throw away character.
