X-men: Dark Phoenix: (June 7,2019)

Logan trailer (March 3, 2017):

Are…are you kidding me?

…

How the fuck do you do that poorly as a superhero movie nowadays? That’s even worse than SJW Ghostbusters did domestically. Dear gods, FOX’s incompetence knows no bounds.

X-Men Apocalypse is the embodiment of what happens when you’re so absurdly mediocre that no one cares you exist.

At least with BvS, Suicide Squad and Ghostbusters, the hatred and the vitriol towards those movies for whatever reason (whether quality, or otherwise) did keep them in the spotlight and got people to go watch for various reasons.

If you can’t be great, be divisively awful. Being a mediocre movie doesn’t do anything for anyone and absolutely no one gave a damn about it. It’s much better to be hated…than to be ignored.

I actually just saw Apocalypse last week for the first time… and it’s the definition of missed opportunities, as expected.

See, it’s shit like this why Marvel movies do so great and are loved by everyone, while Fox movies suck.

Marvel movies:
Marvel: "What do you expect outta Civil War?"
Me: "Shit… I dunno… fucking everyone getting into a huge ass fight. Cap vs Spiderman, Ironman vs Cap, etc. Just an all out fucking fight scene"
Marvel: “Say no more fam.”

Fox movies:
Fox: "What do you expect outta Apocalypse?"
Me: "Shit… I dunno… fucking all the X-Men taking on Apocalypse, who transforms and shit and like fires energy beams outta his eyes and like transforms his armors into all kind of weapons and shit."
Fox: “Um, hm, um, hm. I understand. Here is Apocalypse teleportation around the Earth for 2 hours, never engaging into a fight, and the last 5 minutes it’s him standing in a shield.”

Fucking retarded.

Thankfully we still got Deadpool… or unfortunately… let’s say fortunately since Disney would probably never would have went for the R rating.

Xmen at least made profit, Ghostbusters lost at least 60 million.

I definitely have a soft spot for super hero movies, but still haven’t seen BvS, Suicide Squad, or X-men: Apocalypse. Should I just delete these from my memory, or any of them actually worth a watch?

you can tell when people are hardcore fanboys when they make fun of something for making money

I don’t really have a hate on for Apocalypse (aside from Jennifer Lawrence doing what crazy Jennifer Lawrence does and wanting it to center more on Mystique while refusing to actually BE Mystique as much as possible), and I never really had the urge to see BvS or Suicide Squad.

That being said though…if that Ghostbusters 2016 film actually LOST $60 Million, then that’s one giant piece of karma, because that horrid steaming pile of shit didn’t deserve to make a fucking DIME.

Ghostbusters flopped hard overseas and didn’t do as well as expect domestically. There is a reason Sony doesn’t talk about it anymore. They were expecting Transformers level profits and ended up in a deficit.

Yeah.

Pathetic and horrible “final battle scene” x___x

60 mil was made but it cost 170 mil to make…wheres the profit?

(What maxx asked was the reason that I was laughing, not hate, since it would legitimately hilarious for any superhero movie do that fucking poorly nowadays. That’s like Steel levels of bad. If anything, then I was and still am just incredibly apathetic to this movie given I don’t expect anything quality from FOX. Days of Future Past and more recently Deadpool were exceptions that do not prove the rule.)

To clear this up, I looked this movie at Box Office Mojo just now and the movie made more than $60 million just opening weekend, which just further proves there America loves obviously shitty movies: : http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=x-men2016.htm.

Regardless, it made over $155 million just domestically, so I am unsure where you got $60 million figure from, jae hoon, especially since it (of course) made an addition $388 million internationally since China gobbles up every shitty American blockbuster that comes out regardless of quality. By Hades, the only reason that SJW Ghosbusters didn’t make a profit and indeed lost at least $60 million is because it got banned in China for its supernatural aspects before it even came out, which is still hilarious. Even that POS is still the 24th highest grossing movie of the year just because a bunch of people were stupid enough to go see it: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=ghostbusters2016.htm.

So, this movie’s failure actually was not hilarious given it is apparently the 10th highest grossing movie of the year overall, though that says nothing for its quality or lack thereof. Sad face.

…Well, that was a seizure-inducing summary, but I suppose it falls in line with what people were rightly complaining about earlier in this thread right after the movie came out. So all this did was remind me that, irritatingly, they are still treating Cyclops’s powers like a fucking laser beam instead of a beam of kinetic force. AAARGH! [/nerd rage]

Also, damn. People weren’t kidding about Oscar Isaac being forced to do a stupid as quiet force for Apocalypse. What the fuck happened there?

They profited 60 mill after you account for overseas. The Damned that 60 mill is figuring in marketing costs whRich usually doubles the cost.

(Ah, you did indeed say profit the first time.)

I am so used to people talking only about box office as “profit” when it actually isn’t that I thought you meant that $60 million was all that they made at the box office. That is my fault.

What you make directly is “gross”, profit is after said costs. It can get confusing though admittedly.

(Yeah, I’m already aware about the gross vs. profit thing.)

Like I said, I am used to people erroneously talking about box office gross as “profit” though, hence my confusion. That wasn’t jae hoon’s fault.

All good ironically despite WoW failing miserably here, it made hella money in China and was one of the highest profit making movies of the year so far. They greenlit 2 sequels off the success.

(Fittingly, apparently the next two movies my mother decided to get are this very movie and Warcraft. Sigh. I swear that she and my sister have such bad taste in movies.)

Yeah, I saw that too while looking at Box Office Mojo and was vaguely disgusted, though I was not surprised since I had already heard about the sequels and recall someone–RockBogart possibly–saying that the movie did well in Asia (read: South Korea too) despite being a piece of shit.

All the more reason to hate humanity really.

countdown til the lol movie
