(Oh hey, a likely shitty movie made back all and more of its money because people are idiots on an international level. Gee, never seen that one before. )
sees RockBogart posting in here again
sees that itâs still not confirming what happened to Quicksilver post-Battleworld
finally checks various Wikis and see that they donât mention Quicksilver post-Battleworld either
Fuck it. Iâm just going to assume that he and Wanda (and a bunch of other characters) either are dead or havenât popped back yet after Marvelâs version of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
He was similarly the only non-idiotic character in Prometheus, which sadly dragged down everyone else, even the otherwise also-great Charlize Theron given she got turned into a wish-washy idiot who runs in a straight line and promptly gets crushed like a Looney Toons character at the end. Still not as dumb as the most of the rest of the castâthat goddamn biologist who didnât understand basic serpentine defensive posture was the dumbest and his tall-as-fuck, Aussie asshole geologist fan-fiction boyfriend who made the maps and then promptly still got lost somehow was really no better. [/still loathes that movie]
In general, yeah, Michael Fassbender is a great actor, though even great actors tend to be unable to save bad movies all by themselves unless theyâre maybe the main character. Iâm not sure that applies to this movie or the upcoming Assassinâs Creed, but besides those two things and aforementioned Jonah Hex that I wasnât even aware he was in, everything else Iâve seen him in has had him be quite good like 12 Years A Slave or, for all their flaws, the other two reboot X-Men movies. Itâs why I still want to see his other, less mainstream movies like Hunger, Shame, and Fish Tank.
I finally got a chance to see Apocalypse and to be honest, I had a lot of fun. For all the bitching(mostly from peeps whining about Fox for no good reason and have probably never read an X-book) I was happy to actually watch a comic flick that I could actually take seriously and not have to worry about too much convoluted continuity from an expanded universe. So, I wonder how will all the film students here will defend their shitting on XMAâŚ
Saw it last night. I dont get the hate towards it because i enjoyed it. it was not a mediocre film and way better than BvS. Its not better than Civil War but i can honestly understand the people who enjoyed the movie on the same level as CW.
The main problem with X-men Apocalypse is the same problem ALL X movies had (including first class) which is the portrayal of the team and handling of some characters. However, the end sort of had them in their traditional costumes so we may be seeing the actual rising of the x-men weâve been waiting for.
7.5 or an 8/10 for me. Psylocke is the biggest problem i had. As hot as olivia munn is, i dont think she played psylocke good. She didnt fit the image as popularly theorized. They should of casted a young asian girl who is with in the same age range as Storm so that she would be able to join the X-men. Olivia Munn just makes Psylocke too old to join.
Also, for those who are complaining about Apocalypse. The truth is, he was just as 2 dimensional in the comics as he was in the movie. The only thing that made him likeable was the fact that he would cause Magneto and other x villains to align with the X-mem to take him down other than that he was just a villain that i rarely could understand what the hell he wanted.
