I say you never know whats gonna happen til you see the movie. If she ends up betraying X-Men in the end thatâd be in character and Mystique as fuck id say. However, a thought I had was that this is an alternate timeline to Rebecca Romijn/Team Magneto Mystique so it makes sense that shes an X-Men in a way.
Younger Mystique betraying the X-Men wouldnât be too surprising. I mean, Jennifer Lawrence already betrays common sense all the time.

Guys youre acting like shes going to be the CRUX of the damn movie. Shes going to look hot, get possessed by apoc, say a FEW lines, look hot, and do the action scenes. She is henchman status! Its like complaining about Gina Carano being in deadpool because shes not in contention for an oscar or the chick who played blink in the last thing. From her instagram its apparent that shes put in the work and can pull off the physical stuff, shes got the look, im more worried about Cyclops and Jeanâs performances to be honest.

When did Jen really take the mantle though? First Class, she had a decent-sized supporting role, but that movie was not around her. Days of Future Past, that was 50% Wolverine and 50% Mystique. Yes, the plot revolved around Mystiqueâs plans and her DNA. But a large focus was also put on Wolverine going back, rounding up the troops, and stopping everything. So really, when did Jennifer Lawrence take over? Unlike Wolverine, who has been a very big part in the X-Men movie franchise in every movie except First Class (and this upcoming one too, if you want to count it).
But anyways, Maiden is talking about Psylock, not Mystique.
