X-men: Dark Phoenix: (June 7,2019)

you know what i said when that happened.

hidden missiles or gtfo

First class was good. They never needed to bring wolvie or the old magneto and prof x into the fold.

Should have just made the movie about magneto hunting all nazis, and recruiting mutants. While Charles goes batshit trying to recruit kids with cerebro.

Iā€™ve mentioned over the years how much I liked AoA and wanted to see it handled on the big screen. Itā€™s tough to write well though, I am rather worried theyā€™ll screw it up.

At some point in the future, especially if they screw this up, I plan on writing my own version. Obviously I canā€™t use Marvel characters, but itā€™s the concepts underlying the storyline and some of the great characters we saw that I really like.

Tying it together as a cohesive storyline will be tough, and getting the imagery down is going to be hard too. I really, really liked this event though. Letā€™s all hope they hit this one out of the park.

Damn, Fox was like ā€œWe are going in a good direction now!ā€ with First Classā€¦

Then they ā€˜pushā€™ the limit by bringing back the old X franchiseā€¦now they are just using a wet mop to smear shit all over the little good they didā€¦

Not an alien and no possession of Magnus by Apocalypseā€¦

[quote]
Apocalypse will take place after Days Of Future Past and call on Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and co., but not, this time, the original cast.

ā€œWhat happens in this movie brings about whatā€™ll happen in that movie,ā€ says Singer of the connective tissue between the two.

**While that leaves plenty of scope for the First Class crew to battle Apocalypse any time from 1973 on, Singer disavowed two rumours doing the rounds: that the superbad will feature in a Days Of Future Past credits sting, and that it will arrive on Earth to possess Magneto. ā€œThatā€™s not the caseā€, he stressed, ā€œand neither will that particular thing be in the film. People were concerned we were making Apocalypse an alien. Itā€™s odd. I donā€™t know where that came from.ā€ **ā€¦

ā€œOne thing that interests me is the notion of ancient mutants,ā€ explains Singer of the character. ā€œWhat would people thousands of years ago, without the benefit of science, think mutants were? And more importantly, what would mutants thousands of years ago think they were? Gods? Titans? Angels? Demons? And if such mutants did exist thousands of years ago, what became of them? Did one survive?ā€

Hope is slowly being restoredā€¦ but if this shit doesnt have cableā€¦ manā€¦

The more I read about this the more it sounds like it will suck. I donā€™t like comic book movies anymore and donā€™t even bother watching them. Iā€™ve been very vocal in the past about how much I loved AoA. But unless that director that actually copies comics is handling it (300, Sin City, etc.) it will just be something new and probably sucky.

Imagine if LOTR wasnā€™t actually about hobbits or destroying a ring, but was ā€œmodernizedā€ and ā€œwesternized.ā€ Think about how stupid that would be. Imagine if the argument was those books were too old and were for nerds so modern audiences wouldnā€™t like it. But thatā€™s exactly the mentality taken for comic books and video games, as if the original source material is inferior to what these hacks come up with. But they are hacks for a reason, if they had the ability to come up with their own material they wouldnā€™t need to steal the name of something more popular. That is why it takes a Peter Jackson, someone who is secure with their own ability, to be faithful to the source material and still add so much to the movies to be universally praised and heralded for it, without changing things mindlessly.

Is Singer that level? I do not know, I am not a movie buff. I barely even knew he was directing this movie or writing the screen play.

For fucks sake.

Women always thinking with their pussies.

Anyway, Im sure this will come out around the time Deadpool comes outā€¦

basically when Hell freezes over.
There are all these rumored films: X-force, Deadpool, now thisā€¦
None of them have even been greenlit by Fox.
Just b/c Donner and Tatum want it doesnt mean it will happen so easy.

Plus Tatum cant really carry any kind of film on his own, with the exception of ā€œStep Upā€ lolā€¦

If Fox is smart and they want to play up on the women audience, make it a Rouge/Gambit movie.

Ugh Singer needs to stay the fuck away from this franchise, its been a fuck up since the get go

Total Film magazine had an article about DOFP, and a smidge about X-men: Apocalypse

ā€“It will take place in the 1980ā€™s.
ā€“ It will feature younger versions of some of the classic x-characters.
ā€“It will feature "mass destruction " not seen in other X-films.
ā€“X2 writers (Dan Harris, Mike Dougherty) are working on the script with Kinberg.
ā€“ Apocalypse co-creator Louie Simonson has low expectations. (Sheā€™s still upset about Shaqā€™s magnum opus Steel )

Lol.

Marvel lets the films take so much liberty with the movies and yet Capcom had to get them to ā€œapproveā€ costumes colors and the way Dr Strangeā€™s fingers moved in his idle stance. Rotflllllll

Stay free marvel. Been fucking up comic book movies for the past 10 fuckin years.

These things are a FAN SERVICE and dont let anyone tell you any different. And these cunts have just been winging these plotlines.

Marvel doesnā€™t have any say so in regard to X-Menā€™s movie rights, Sony still has the movie rights for those characters (and Spider-Man as well)

Out of Marvelā€™s hands in this case

For fuckā€™s sake.

I thought Fox was about to lose their X-Men license.

Actually, Fox is FF and X-men. sony is spidey.

Ahh, thanks for the correction, my bad. But yeah, Marvel canā€™t do anything about it tho, Iā€™m sure theyā€™d love to have their characters back and incorparate them into the MCU.

Why do people still not understand this?

Neither Sony or Fox will lose their licenses to these properties unless they simply decide to stop making movies of their own accord.
