Joker appeared in The Dark Knight and Suicide Squad, and also in Gotham (sort of).

Here’s my controversial ranking for all the X-films

(best to worst)

DOFP - 9/10
First Class/Logan/Deadpool 1 - 8.5/10
X2 - 8/10
Deadpool 2/The Wolverine - 7.5/10
X1/ XM Apocalypse - 7/10

X3: The Last Stand - 6/10
XM Dark Phoenix - 5/10
XOrigins Wolverine - 4/10

Always weird to me Deadpool is considered an xmen franchise

I count it as "X-men"in my mind bc he debuted in New Mutants and I count that as a spin off similarly to X-factor/Excalibur/X-force,Gen. X , Cable etc.

Deadpool is heavily tied to the X-Men spin-off groups. Of course he’s apart of the franchise.

X1 and Apoc feel like opposite ends of the spectrum.
X1 feels like a SYFY TV movie now and Apoc feels bloated in the Michael Bay/Zack Snyder sense. They are flawed in terms of makeup/sfx, character stories, pacing etc.
But I do think theyre just “ok” them and they dont make me wince as much as those lower three. I would put MCU Iron Man 3 and Captain Marvel at 7/10.

As bad as X3 is, I did like a few things like Kelsey Grammer’s look/acting, the music score, and some fan service moments(Iceman iced, fastball special,) and parts of the cure story. Obviously they should not have combined Phoenix and Cure plots into a 95 min movie. But I still consider it bad on the level of Snyders BVS/ , Ayers Suicide Squad.

Origins is a movie to watch only when high.
DPhoenix is one of the rare movies that doesn’t make me feel anything. It takes a really special movie to do that. The only movie Ive seen similar to that is 2015’s Man from Uncle by Guy Ritchie. I checked my watch multiple times through both films.

Like I’ve said, I’m probably the second most forgiving person on SRK when it comes to movies so that’s why I know some views of mine are controversial.

Even though I mostly post about Transformers on SRK, X-men is tied for my second favorite franchise. So there’s that too.

They’ve made 60 million so far against a budget of 200 (excluding market costs). Jesus. Will foreign money make that up? I always hear about foreign numbers coming in to boost things up at least.

Maybe in the Chinese market, as they like jank and corny movies

Thus far it’s made $230 worldwide. That’s low global box office for a X-Men film.

IIRC a movie needs to make twice its budget to break even.

call me tin foil hat but I do feel Disney’s hands are playing not just 3D chess but like dirty chess. As in, most non Disney movies don’t get IMAX for more than its opening weekend, meanwhile I can still see Aladdin on IMAX around here… I’ve seen that treatment during Xmas but this summer was more evident with Godzilla, Shazam and John Wick. Where I’m going with this is that IMO Dark Phoenix as bad as it was (it wasn’t a good movie) wasn’t as bad as X3 or Apocalypse. Yet we get these rampant negative over the top reviews and multiple “news sources” telling you it’s bad. Is almost like they want it to be bad in terms of popular consensus. I don’t expect people to say is great cause it isn’t but I mean a pile of shit like Bayformers or Suicide Squad got a lot of ppl into the theaters without that much negativity on media. I’m just saying is sus af

I remember Tarantino saying Hateful 8 was getting bullied by Star Wars 7 back when they were on theaters. Is not like it was even a direct competition, Disney just wanted NO movies to be nearby when they got their big hitters on screen it seems.

Not only is Deadpool an X-Men character but, Fox went out of it’s way to associate the X-Men in his movies. So you’re damn right, that those are X-flicks.

Especially Deadpool 2. Besides Deadpool himself, you’ve got Colossus, Cable and friggin’ Juggernaut. They’re even in the X-mansion with other cameos at one point (and a faux Hugh Jackman “cameo” to boot). It’s totally an X-Men movie.
