If you actually read the article he giving props to the actors and not the writing

Clairmont is being constructive in a sea of criticism.

To be fair they were off to a great start with X-Men and X2 but it kind of went downhill after Singer left.

Personally I just consider X-Men, X2 and Logan a trilogy and tend to ignore the rest in terms of chronology.

Claremont is a "company " man like Stan Lee.
He rarely says anything bad especially when the movie is new.

I remember someone asked Stan why Fantastic Four 2015 was so bad and he said,ā€œBecause I dont have a cameo in it!ā€

Yeah a company man can’t speak their mind freely in public, they have their career to think of first.

The movie made 9 million on the second weekend. Jesus this movie is flopping hard.

MCU should make Xmen with new stories, tired of seeing the same shit over and over. Dark Phoenix etc etc. There are so many other stories to adapt. Actually let’s move on from Jean Grey.

It would be nice to see Psylocke presented as a heroine instead of a villain for once.

My local theater has pretty much taken it out of rotation. Only 3 showings a day and they all super late in the evening.

They don’t have any showings listed for it after this upcoming weekend either.

Fox has yet to make a Dark Phoenix movie. If I give you a carton of chocolate ice cream and there is vanilla ice cream inside, you can’t be sick of chocolate ice cream when you finish it. You never had chocolate despite what is on the package.

Well the problem is Fox did to the Dark Phoenix story (and the larger Phoenix Saga as a whole) what
M. Night Shyamalan did to the Last Air Bender.

I’m pretty sure Marvel Studios won’t do a Dark Phoenix movie. Or an Apocalypse movie. Or a Galactus movie. Not in 20 to 30 years at least.

You’ll see elements of those sagas (I expect to find Galactus and Silver Surfer already ā€œdivorcedā€, with references to what happened before), but never straight adaptations.

And as for Apocalypse… he simply has no chance.

They still got a lot of big bads to choose from. Shame apocalypse is off the table, but fuck dark Phoenix. I’m actually thankful that Fox destroyed the chances of this arc happening anytime soon.

and foc yin grei

Fox never used Sinister despite being teased in a few movies. He will make for a good big bad for the MCU movies to separate themselves from the Fox movies. Mojo would fit perfectly in the MCU.

They will be the first villains they’ll adapt. Along with Magneto.

I can honestly see Magneto taking a backseat. He’s the quintessential X-MEN villain but the character has been in every mainline X-Men film from Fox. I can see Marvel Studios benching him like they did with Norman Osborne.

But he will be adapted.

I also want Omega Red.

Sinister would be dope af.

Or Mojo? I’m biased with this one tho cause I fucking love Mojo.

My one and only hope for MCU X-Men is please do not make the movies Wolverine centric again. I fucking haaaaated that shit.

Once Spidey joined mcu,Harry, norman,Gwen were benched.

I strongly believe Magnus, mystique , wolverine will debut much later. Xavier will probably be like M/Q from James Bond.

I want to see Sinister, Morlocks,Mojo,Cameron Hodge(in his weird scorpion tank),Reavers,Selene,Spiral,Brood,Shiar in MCU

The character relationships like wolvy and nightcrawler, storm and kitty,Cyclops and Jean, Colossus and kitty need to be Paramount as well.

Hell even the X-Men need some human allies like Moira/Stevie Hunter etc.
