X-Men Children of the Atom

I’ve been trying to figure out how to get challenged by Akuma on the Playstation version. Here’s what I already know:
In the past, if I recall, he has challenged me once on level 2 and once on level 5. He showed up right before the normal bosses.
Whether you’re on level 2, 5, or 8, not losing a round is by itself not enough to get his attention.
On level 2, not losing a round and getting all Hyper-X (full Super) finishes up 'till the normal bosses was not enough for him to show. I’m not sure how many of the Hyper finishes involved block damage.
Can anyone clue me in?

dude…
are you selling that game?
know anyone that is?
check out this site:

look for your game, it should give you tips.

Ah, I had been looking on secrets/codes pages, but it was in the long text files.
The listed technique says to pick Manual and to neither continue nor lose a round. It also says to connect with six or more unblocked Hypers --with one-hit finishes not counting (?) and at least once getting all possible hits–, and to get the First Attack in every round. If you manage all that during the first five fights, Akuma should replace your sixth opponent. I’m not sure whom the technique is originally from, but it seems to work. Two out of the three times I managed the First Attack requirement Akuma showed up, and the third time I suspected I wasn’t doing well with my Hypers.
Thanks, Wolverine-Master. It’s not for sale, though, and I don’t know anyone else who owns it, sorry. I suggest saving a search for it on eBay. It may not be the best version, though. From what I’ve been reading on Gamefaqs, the endings are clipped, and Magneto’s stage may be different.

Wolverine-master, what version are you looking for?

A dude in Trading Outlet had the PS1 version listed, the thread’s a little old though - http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=5748879

The CPS2 boards are on eBay regularly, but the current crop is priced kinda high IMO. Things averaging $60 now (usually + the motherboard) when before you could get things for $20-$30.

thanks alot man…
i pm’d him.
hopefully he still has it.

Get the board or Sega Saturn if you get a version. the psx version just isn’t up to par with the Arcade or Sarurn versions
