Haven’t read any of Messiah Complex, but I was hoping it was Nate Grey reborn.
If it’s a girl that’s out the window!

If Magneto can get his head chopped off by Wolverine and somehow come back then anything’s possible. We absolutely haven’t seen the last of Jubilee.
And what was going on in Astonishing X-Men 24? It’s not a missile it’s a bullet. What does that mean? Oh well I can’t wait for Giant Size Astonishing X-Men. There’s a chance that it might come out this year.
Since im in real estate and as often as the heroes destroyed shit. I can understand the reason for pro-registration
exactly and there wouldnt be a need for OMD. He is an idiot
So were Destiny’s predictions only pertaining to Rogue? Or was there more at stake? And did they explain what “One Minute Till Dawn” meant?
So first of all Brand new day sucks… I did like the breif one more day stint though.
Second of all BAH… I scoff at your pro-registration rediculousness.
Look in the real world liability should be determined by the teams. The only reason why the public liked the avengers so much is because they actually stick around to clean shit up after they are done. Xmen show up Blow up shit… then bounce. But yes i aggree that there should be some sort of sponsorship and liability but that should be on team founders head.
I mean seriously they follow the agenda of the team founder anyway so Prof Xavier, ironman and so on. solo heroes like Spidey, Daredevil, ghost rider should have to have some sort of afilliation that is in place to cover them if they damage something.
but in the comic world. Having registration is stupid. and if the mutants did register that would be even more retarded. Xmen fought long and hard vs mutant registration … you better belive there asses werent going to register withtony stark… and whats more they have there own problems and nobody helped them out with that, Genosha comes to mind mutant massacre, others. Yeah they may be homeless but most of them arent poor schmoes like spidey luke cage and company. Storm is freaking queen of wakanda, Cyclops is banging Emma who is DEFINITLY NOT POOR, Colosus probably still has the farm to go back to. Also Warren who’s got a few sky scrapers to house a few of the new xmen if need be… but even not all of them are poor Hellion has dough, then too M has got tons of cash.
I contest that the mutants are not as bad off as you’d think. so there. Not like those broke ass avengers Wasp is all like … “anybody wanna buy my outfits… 5 dollars 5 dollars!” Carol was doing alright but now she has to sleep on the mini hellcarrier Wonderman only has one outfit LOL!!! Even nightcrawler got more clothes than one outfit. LOL.
No the Xdudes are just fine.
that seemed to be when they realized who has the baby.
Depends. The Diaries are a trap, if you follow the events in the book you ensure whatever in there is going to happen (stated way back in Xtreme X-Men, seems to still hold true). Mystique followed said events in the book to save Rogue allowing and in some ways causing a lot of things to occur. So there was a lot of manipulation on her part plus things predicted in the book so all of the events could line up just right, I imagine.
Though I guess another way to look at it is the ‘real’ future can’t be stopped and / or altered. Alternate futures like Cable’s, Phoenix’s and Bishops are most likely still in the air, waiting to be either wiped out or occur once out timeline catches up to theirs (but will prolly never happen in our reading time since time passes slowly in Marvel).
actually cable’s isn’t. I forgot where this was determined but his timeline is completely not possible of happening. I’ll look it up.
I think rachel’s ahab future has been corrected too. so now it’s just days of future past and bishops… I think. I have to check UXN I think i read it there.
And I think destiny’s volumes only spoke about what happens to rogue and mystique. it predicted Mystique would be back with rogue and essentially… she is. kinda. I think mystique is gonna come back more badass than ever.
…
also it would be awesome if she had another kid. I’m just saying. adopted or otherwise it would be awesome. Also if Emma and scott have December Frost from x-nation that would be awesome too.
Dr. Doom threw the Incredible Hulk into my house and then the Hulk threw my car at Doom…
That ruined my credit…
PRO-REG!
Technically wouldn’t Emma be her great or great, great Grandma?
the point is make some Xbabies Bitches.
Remember how awesome Xfactor was when they were fighting so hard to protect baby cable?
How awesome would it be if there were a bunch of x toddlers running around dodging the purifiers and the brotherhood and so on.
Well arguably Marvel has to always leave any possible futures open or make it seem like they won’t happen. They can’t pigeon hole themselves into one thing or another.
Even if the Diaries only spoke only of Rogue there are still things that would have to surround other things, like the baby for example. For Mystique to even get in contact with the baby, lots of things had to be manipulated at her end, she says as much in the last issue.
Time Travel in Marvel usually works like this. You go back in time and change the one thing that messes up your future. You go back to your time and everything is exactly the same, forcing your future to become an alternate reality.
Though it’s funny. As much as Marvel tries to wipe out any futures from occuring there are still things that happen in our timeline. Senator Kelly still died, at the hands of a human, but still. Ahab was still born, and deaths of heroes and villains mean nothing in Marvel. Cyke and Jean still traveled to the future to raise Cable. The X-Traitor (Onslaught) still did his demage and Jean Grey’s message was still recorded. And so on, and so on. The futures may not be exactly the same when our time catches up to them (which we will never read about anyway) but it’s hard to say if a lot of things won’t still occur. Though like I say, it’s a comic, and they can’t pigeon hole themselves into one future or another, except that X-Men The End never happens, trust me on this one.
Seriously though, in a world where Scarlet Witch can say “No More Mutants” and have this effect not only our world but alternate realities, I think that anything is possible and any future can happen in one way or another. Which is a good thing. Especially for writers, allowing them creative freedom since nothing’s written in stone IMHO.
Uhh…there are a group of X-Toddlers, but they’re in the Mojoverse. Though it would be amusing if they were running around in the regular universe, screwing everything the hell up.
Yeah, that was a pretty good read. Kind of far-out-there plotting with the whole Savage Land angle, but the gist of it came through in the characterization and text. BKV also wrote a Chamber: Icons miniseries and that one was even better.
Also, someone on the previous page marked his spoiler tag with something like “Spoiler for Bishop’s death.” I didn’t read the spoiler but somehow, I still feel spoiled. Unless that is a blatant lie to mess with my head… So I don’t know either way if he’s dead or not. Awesome.
heck yeah… when done right bringing the kids into the story makes for some entertaining adventures. some of my favorite x stories involved franklin artie and leech.
well since i represent people who currently has homes on the market. Let’s say some clown destroys their home. Now im going to receive alot of calls from my client about this. Of course ill ask “do you have any superhero insurance?” and most people will say no. So my clients will want to get paid and since i represent them i expect payment too. Sorry cyke or even peter (but that be a waste of time). As for tony stark since he is head of shield now you better believe that im coming for his ass.
thank you sir and welcome to the comic book thread (if no one welcomed you)
LOL Greeney I missed your post the first time around. No X-Mansion = X-Men homeless. BUMS! So until Warren or Emma figure something out they gotta sing “LA DA DE LA LA!” And your homeboy Hulk has been reduced to a test tube baby. Big up to Tony Stark keeping Hulk off the streets. You don’t see Spider-Woman bringing Skrullektra to Proffesor X now do you? PS Tony Stark already banged Emma so Cyke got sloppy seconds. Tony Stark owns all! Pro Reg is still winning so nya nya na nya nya!
Citizens of the SRK Comic Book Forum: I am running as your anti-reg candidate in '08. What my opponent Sano is trying to say is that people who are different should be persecuted and locked up, with no consideration to their individual liberties.
Under my plan, which I call the Goodm0urning “Amnesty for Abnormals” plan, those with superhuman gifts will be allowed to live their lives undisturbed as private citizens. Those who wish to volunteer their services to the government will be welcome to do so, and those who operate outside of the law will be arrested and prosecuted under standard vigilante laws.
Under my opponent’s plan, all superhumans will be hunted down, rounded up, shipped to the Negative Zone, and systematically sodomized with fluorescent lightbulbs by a specially trained crew of former mobsters and mentally disabled auto mechanics.
We know take you to a post goodmourning said in the “New Comics This Week” thread last year.

Don’t vote for goodmOurning because he keeps spewing the same speech over and over again in threads they don’t belong in. This is the same platform he ran in 2007. Don’t vote for Sano either, he’s a mod screw him. Vote Tony Stark!
Marvel comics is treating their world like it is the real world. So arguments such as “Pro-Reg doesn’t belong in the comic book world” just don’t make much sense to me. That’s the entire basis of the argument. If you don’t pretend it’s the real world it’s not fun at all. I’m sure in the comic book world just because Spider-Man webs up Volture and leaves him on the corner baldy can go to jail with no witnesses and no one pressing charges on whatever it was he did. That just isn’t the world that Marvel is currently dealing with. Spidey would have to show up at his trail and explain everything, if they’d even allow vigilantism to this extent.
In New York we have the Guardian Angels. LOL you know what they do to preserve justice? They see something, they call the cops. That’s about as much as they can do within the law.
It’s a crazy world out there. Do you know that if a robber attacks you and you beat him up, well if they find out you are a trained martial artist they can lock you up and the criminal can press charges against you? When I trained in Kenpo years ago, my instructer used to tell me that if I ever had to defend myself to say I learned it in a movie. One of my instructors got arrested once and he was tossing all his Martial Arts Business cards out the police car window. Anyway welcome to the world Marvel and Civil War is dealing with.
You operate on people, you need a license. You drive, you need a license. Because you can potentially kill someone, even by accident. You have to be held liable for your actions.
People who are different should be persecuted? LOL you have this so twisted. Do you have a Social Security number? Guess what! You have registered with the government already. Chances are you won’t get a job without a Social Security number. It’s the same deal with powers. Registration is treating everyone equal. EVERYONE. Powers or no. You have to register. Vigilantism is against the law.
The Negative Zone thing was going overboard, I’ll give you that. But if the people there would of registered in the first place they could of avoided that fate easy. There wasn’t enough super jails that could hold all of these people with powers so it was one of those things.
Not for nothing but real prison, depending on where you go is a pretty terrible place. Well no matter where you go it’s horrible when you are in a situation where your life is controlled 24/7, but there are places that are worse than others. My little brother did about three years upstate. He told me countless stories of guards becoming angered and killing people, only to tell families that the person died during a prison raid. There were guards who were a member of a group - and pardon the racial slur - “Tar Babies” and any and all visitors including myself could see their tattoos, African American babies with nooses around their necks. And here they were, walking around out in the open like nothing was wrong. Like there’s nothing wrong with having people like this work in prison. Perhaps not as a conscious thing on the writers’ part, but the Negative Zone Prison seems just about as bad as real jails are, in a comic book sense.
My little brother’s doing fine, sorry if I got a bit too personal there. Course that’s what makes Civil War such a great story, that it can take you to different avenues while discussing it. So moving on -
Pro-Reg is still winning in the comics. I still don’t see any advantage in being Anti-Reg. Let’s run it down -
Captain America - Dead
Spider-Man - Lost his marriage
Avengers - Living in the ghetto
Hulk - On permanent lock down
On the surface it seems wrong to say that Reed Richards and Tony Stark made a mistake, hell Reed is even back with Sue. They have all the spoils.
I’m sure Marvel will get around to making the Pro-Reg people pay for real (and no, I’m not talking about the usual Tony Stark getting punked because he’s still running S.H.I.E.L.D. and a bajillionare) but I dunno man it’s been 2 years already and people are dropping Skrulls on Tony’s Welcome Mat.
Seriously though, Iron Man’s ordeal is really a perspective thing. He only comes off as a big fat jerky jerk in every comic that doesn’t say “IRON MAN” on it. In his own comic he comes off as someone who generally wants to do the right thing. If I had to point one bad thing out about how Marvel’s telling this story, that would be it. Not that you can’t see that Iron Man does generally care in other books, it’s just overshadowed by all the other terrible things he’s done. I think they need more of a balance in other books. Ah well, maybe Marvel’s just playing to the crowd who is mostly Anti-Reg anyway.
My older brother and his wife had a baby today, so I’m an uncle once again! My brother’s other child, my niece is four. Hey if I was gonna go this off topic I figure I might as well go out on a positive note! :lovin:
Five words: Negative. Zone. Fluorescent. Bulb. Sodomy.
This is the world we will live in if you vote for Sano.
I’m goodm0urning, and I approve this message.
Just like real world jails! My point exactly.
X-Men something… filler… :clown:
