What’s the best arcade stick for the x-box 360? I’m ready to order one on ebay with HD remix and marvel coming to the 360.
which ones the best? I’ve come across the Hori fighting controller; any word on that?

hori ex2 but whoaaa kid wrong place
looks who’s talking.
either way, if you can wait 3 months, the MadCatz SFIV sticks look like they’re going to be top-notch sticks.
I know this thread is in the wrong section, but seeing as how it’s already here, and I’m an Xbox noob, would anyone be cool enough to tell me if there’s a 360 stick which has a similar layout to the Hori real arcade pro sticks, but which I don’t have to sell my soul and firstborn child to acquire? I HATE the regular 360 Hori stick button layout. I can’t play Tekken on that shit.
Mad Catz.
There are only 3 arcade sticks on the 360:
The three different Hori sticks that are exactly the same, except for having different face plates (there’s the DOA4 stick, the SC4 stick, and the VF5/EX2 stick).
This lame-ass piece of shit.
Aaaaaaaand the SF4 Mad Catz-made arcade stick that’s coming at some point in 2009.
If you don’t like the Hori sticks, then you’re outta luck for a bit.
As far as moneys worth, you should either invest in something that will last or don’t bother investing at all.I and many others have dealt with a Hori EX2 going faulty on them in one way or another and it’s a waste of money in general unless your getting it for $15-$25 AT MOST.
I would recommend looking through the trading outlet to see if theres any good deals on sticks being sold by other members or custom orders being taken.

Theres also a thread up on budget cases WITH sanwa or happ arcade parts which are responsive and will last you a long time.Zal isn’t taking new orders until he’s finished with his current batch but as far as taking a safe/affordable approach this should be decent choice.
You can’t order that, tho.
wrong place imo but anyways
current xbox 360 stick solutions:
hori ex2/DOA/SC4 - ~$50 bucks. hori stick, hori buttons, probably “mid tier” status. only 360 stick youll ever need if youre not picky. if you are picky, replace the buttons and you got at least a high tier stick. replace the stick AND the buttons and you got yourself a top tier stick. full sanwa modded EX2s usually run around $100.
hrap EX - sanwa JLF with hori buttons. IMO a high tier stick, a bit higher than EX2 with sanwa buttons, but lower than full sanwa modded EX2. hardest part is actually getting one of these damn things. costs the same or more than a modded EX2 i think.
custom - obviously can range from low tier to god tier. you can pull out all the stops and get a bulletproof stick made out of extraterrestrial space wood with a picture of curvy anime girls on it and buttons that play the national anthem every time you parry chun’s super in 3s and that would be god tier, or you can be like me and have a wooden box with arcade parts in it. in terms of price, the first stick would probably cost a house and your firstborn. my stick (wood box with a stick and buttons) cost me $65 + shipping. i suggest checking out the trading outlet if youre interested in ‘budget’ stick solutions.
LETS TIER XBOX360 STICKS LOL
S tier:
-“high end” custom
A tier:
-full sanwa EX2
-full sanwa HRAP EX
-custom with real arcade parts
B tier:
-HRAP EX
-Hori EX2 with arcade buttons
C tier:
-Hori EX2
FUTURE xbox 360 stick solutions:
if you wait until 2009, and since youre making this thread now you probably dont want to, here are two more sticks you can get
madcatz SF4 stick - comes in “pro” and “not-so-pro” models. check the thread in tech talk for info.
Hori SF4 stick - it’s a HRAP EX with SF4 art on it. yay!
Yeah, custom/modded sticks with expensive parts are consistently top tier.
Problem is that the dude said he doesn’t wanna pay, which puts him out of his element when it comes to getting a non-stock stick.
The first stick I owned and played seriously on was the DOA4 stick and it’s starting to fall apart (the rubber on the cord is very split, and the stick is pretty loose). But it’s still definitely worth the 60 bucks I paid for it.
there’s always me
i can make you a full american stick for like 75 plus shipping
