both consoles getting the same fighters, including bb and t6. get whats best for you.
i prefer 360 just because of the better online functionality. thats what puts it easily over the top for me. and wiring 360 pcb’s for sticks is a piece of cake!
the vf5 is “outdated” on both consoles anyways, so VF shouldn’t be a factor. tekken 5 dr shouldn’t be as well.
imo the factors should be:
-online quality (not right now but in the future, cuz sony is starting to catch up somewhat)
-stick availability
-on what console your local competition plays on
-which console(s) will blazblue come out on?
-which fighting games will be zone-free on the 360, and which won’t (cuz the ps3 is 100% zone free…)
-a japanese ps3 will be able to run fate:unlimited combos but also the more important arcana heart 2
Battle Fantasia is 360 exclusive and a pretty good game - old-school SF-style characters mixed in with Guilty Gear-style characters, and decent online. Doesn’t get a lot of play, though. 360 also has the better version of VF5.
I and a number of other SRKers actually enjoy MK vs. DC, but it may not be your thing.
I hear the 360 version of HD Remix is better than the PS3 version overall - less laggy, less buggy (though still buggier than just about any other fighter I’ve ever played). Can’t personally confirm this, so hopefully someone else can chime in.
I thought I heard that T6BR and Blazblue were coming to both consoles, but it’s probably not official. I could see Tekken remaining PS3-only, but I would expect BB on both.
A couple other factors to keep in mind: PS3 is the tournament standard because it has good converters, but far more top SF players are on 360.
converter issue is wearing thin. especially when they are not really accessible, even tho i guess the ps2>usb adapters work. and once sf4 drops, people will have access to the sf4 TE stick, and a localized HRAP(dont need to import anymore!!!) t6 is confirmed for 360. and aksys fully supports 360 in america(moreso than ps3, possibly due to larger install base in the us?), so BB is a no brainer.
in the end, you pick what you like. thats all that matters. pick whats important to you. like my choice is strictly from an online standpoint, especially since thats really the only difference in my eyes between the 2 choices.
I agree with him, I got PS3 because aside from fighting games (just about all the major fighting games are multiconsole anyway) PS3 has more original games (I have a powered up PC so I don’t have any reason for a 360 personally)
True, but really it’s coming down to personal preference then being just about ALL the major fighters I can think of are multi console. So only thing that should come into play in this argument should be the online, and I suppose controller (playing fighters with a 360 controller is murder for me, but if you have a converter once again, doesn’t matter)
I think when it comes to fighting games, like mentioned above…simply buy the one that the people around you play. Even if Blaz Blue only comes out in Japan for PS3, PS3 is regionless for gaming so unless the story is that important to you…you’re basically getting the same game (though that’s not taking into account if the local population will buy imports). But generally just see if you’re friends have the system and buy the matching one to play with them. I think that’s the best way to think about it.
