Yeah the RROD was a big problem at launch but the modern Jasper and Slim units have pretty much eliminated it. It’s really not any bigger a problem than the yellow light problem on PS3 for 360s made in the last year or so, I think.
My jasper unit is as quiet as the PS3 slim and does not get anywhere near as hot as my PS3 slim does after running a few hours. Just my experience. I guess I was lucky too though, had my launch unit die a year later, got it replaced for free, then was good until 2009 when I got the non-RRoD overheating problem. Bought a new arcade unit and I’ve been good since then.
Sucks that we couldn’t get a good game of Castlevania going last night - it was really fun when it was working!
excited to play more KoF 98 casuals next week. I think more people should play that game - it’s pretty simple and fun.

i also FINALLY have my capture card set up with my laptop so im gonna try to get some more offline matches recorded and maybe good online matches. im not a big fan on SNK games however i do want to get some matches of the games we play on a weekly basis recorded, like 3s, sf4, and bb if anything.

quick rundown on what consoles can I find KOF 98’ on?
I ask…because I have several emulators on my laptop…so I can try to pick up and play on an SNK fighter. Im planning on making it to fight night next week and wouldn’t mind getting in on casuals for any game that’s played.
EDIT: a friend just filled me in…Playstation it is. is it also on the Dreamcast? I’d rather play it on there myself…but I’ll try to play some KoF now before next week.
