Hotel looks to be $120 per night (14.28% tax WTF?!?). Gas should be about $100 (694 miles roundtrip, 20mpg with my Odyssey [probably not even that good], $2.85/gallon), maybe a tad less. So… $220 for gas and hotel divided by 6 people is about $36 per person, $31 if we have 7. Factor in venue fee, tournament fees, and food/beverage, and you can probably get by on $100 for the whole weekend. Not bad if you’re going to be entering multiple games.
EDIT: I would need $$$ before the tourney, like way before. Booking online to get their “special rate” requires payment in full immediately; I cannot simply reserve then pay at the counter like usual. So, $36 upfront (maybe at one of the upcoming fight nights), then you need to save for the actual tourney itself. Let me know if this will work with you guys; I just don’t have enough to front for the hotel right now.
EDIT2: I would just need the hotel money upfront, not the gas money if that’ll make/break you.
My van is filling up fast; Soloist, Tomato, Syxx? You guys in? It’d be nice to have strongest players going to MN to represent. I think HDR and Tekken 6 start hella early, so if we really wanted to have guys enter those, we’d have to leave extremely early in the AM.

Got off the phone with Holiday Inn in Bloomington, MN. This is the deal:
$109.70 if I do the Advance Purchase; payment in full upfront, nonrefundable, noncancelable.
$130.27 if I do the normal reservation; reserve now, pay at the time of check-in, fully refundable, cancellable.
I’m leaning towards the Advance Purchase, but that requires funds from you guys immediately. If we do the normal reservation, it’ll be a bit more, but you can pay me later.
