I’m always a little wary of pre-tourney casuals. You almost give away your secrets and strategies to potential opponents before you hit the grindstone and play fo realz. Not that it’d matter for me as I usually miss casuals and I play like garbage regardless, but it’s always a concern in the back of my mind.

just wanna give props to everyone who made this newb feel welcome at Tracks yesterday.
I had those tourney jitters for awhile…first time going to one myself…and first my time using a MadCatz FightPad too (thank you to…was it Syxx or Tony who let me use it? prolly both of you guys…thanx!). After I got accommodated to the atmosphere, I got to meet some new people here too…Dawn, Mike, Jeremy, Jerry, Carlos, Tony, Price (we MUST defeat Balrog to stand a chance!!!..haha).
It felt great to check out how awesome the scene is…I felt ecstatic for almost the entire time there (got worn out around 7…went home and knocked out for the rest of the night). I’ll remember to cop a FightPad and bring it with me next time.
anyways, I’ll try my best to come through whenever I have down time from school. props to footmeetsskull (Mike, right?), Syxx and Soloist (and anyone and everyone else who helped out or came through) for a great tourney. and thanx for making this new guy here feel at welcome.

alright forreal whos all gonna start playing Blazblue CS? If you havent tried blazblue yet you might as well wait until tuesday when the new one comes out for console lol. this game is pretty easy to learn and its at least fun as fuck to play. im not gonna lie there is some BS when it comes to mid.high level strategies and matchups lol but I almost guarantee you guys are gonna like it and possibly pick it up as a side game.
Ill be down to show you guys some stuff. I know the mechanics in BB pretty well and im gonna be messing around in the PC “version” of the new game until I get it on console which will probably be about next week. I know for sure that Syxx, NappyJin, TomatoPancake, and Footmeetsskull all play it (or at least know how) and know what they’re doing so you’ll have some good comp. If anyone can bring CS to the next gathering that would be awesome.
and in other news im probably gonna sell my 2nd ps2 stick for $ 65 - 70 so i was wondering if anyone was interested. Its the Sagat custom one made out of Paduk wood if you guys ever seen it. all sanwa. the buttons feel more responsive then any stick Ive ever owned. the reason why im selling is cause I need the money for BB lol and I cant play marvel on this stick cause the buttons are too responsive 3s feels godly on this thing though. Im gonna touch it up and post pics if anyones interested. its going on the Trading Outlet after about a week if no one wants it.

Madwak I’ll have BB CS at the gathering Tuesday. My Gamestop is doing a midnight release for Starcraft tomorrow. The guy that works there that plays fighters told me I can get my copy of CS then. Milwaukee please play this game. It’s a lot of fun and not that hard to learn.
How similar is BB to Guilty Gear?
It’s very similar, just no Super Jump and no Roman Cancel. It’s still got Air Dash and Double Jump Cancelling. I think it’s decent, but no one plays it around here.

Carlos i’m pretty sure ppl will play CS. As a matter of fact, not only is Nappy going to buy the game on tuesday he said that he will be hanging out with us on that day probably.
sorry i didn’t get to talk to everyone yesterday there was just so much stuff going on and I wanted to keep things moving in the tournament so that we can get more people to come next time hopefully. Yesterday was our biggest turn out yet! Let’s try to break 32 people next time for super.

I was in training mode with Balrog, on pad, and was pulling off most of his BnBs. SF4’s engine is easy mode, especially link timing. Nothing like CvS2’s crazy restrictive link system…

lol…Matt…Mike…whichever works for skull…haha. all these Rogs…seriously making me consider picking up a 2ndary. >.< and yeah…mad props to Syxx…all the matches flowed really well…no confusion, no delays. smooth all the way.
about BlazBlue…I dabbled a bit in it…but I ended up going back to Super (bought both games at the same time). I like it…just felt a bit too much like contrived anime. Never had a chance to play the Guilty Gear series so I felt a bit lost. I was having more fun with Super, so BB just fell by the wayside as time progressed.
I could always avoid story mode and just mess with the vs. modes/online. I’ll try to get into Calamity Trigger again…if I can get decent enough, I’ll cop Continuum Shift when I gets the funds.
Jesus christ, SF X Tekken looks corny as hell dude seriously. It just looks like SF with tekken characters added in. I just watched the gameplay and I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
I wish that they’d go back to 3S animation/sprites for SFxTekken. I dislike the way SF4 looks (character models aren’t detailed for as large as they are).
Lol I said the same exact thing. Check the first comment on the video in the media section. So I traded in Red Dead Redemption at Gamestop and used the credit towards CS by the time it was all said and done I only had $2.98 left to pay on it in full. That’s not counting the reserve price of $5 I put down. $7.98 total isn’t too bad of a deal tho.
Yeah I’m getting balzblue CS this week too. Trade in shenanigans at gamestop mean it’s pretty cheap. The training mode and challenge mode stuff should make it easier to learn plus people locally playing always helps too.
I really want a PS2 stick MadWak - can’t buy it until end of the month though and foot had a namco stick he wanted to sell, but it’s stock. I’d rather buy the sanwa-ized one, no offense foot.
I would like to run a random select side tourney at the next event - say when we’re down to the last 4 players in the main tourney? Just so we can start it rolling as soon as we don’t need every SF4 setup for the main tournament. $1 entry or something. Could be fun and keep people sticking around longer after they are eliminated.
It’s cool honestly the one Madwak has is nicer than the Namco stick.
im pretty sure Sf x T will end up looking great, i mean remember how SF4 looked in its initial leaked screens? holy christ! now whether it plays well is another story.
