Secondhand sellers on used boards possibly. $80 is good considering 2 padhacked PCBs is over $80 most likely, then you need the DPDT switch or IMP. Maybe the price will go down eventually, but that’ll probably only happen when the 8th gen console’s lifespan has pretty much ended or there is some huge sale that gained permission by Brook. Besides if you don’t need Xbox One or 360 support, then the Brook PS3/PS4 PCB is fine.
This. Thanks @sasquach I think the value is there just as you pointed out. While the PCB design is “simple” the code and time to design, implement and test is not. R&D is not a magical unicorn that is nebulous and has no cost.
The regular ps3/ps4 brook works with your systems of systems?
You can get a Brooks PCB for $40 on many sites selling arcade parts.
With enough soldering, yes.
Hey Jasen, do you still have any Astro City control panel available?
I am currently deployed.
I would gladly pay extra for a wide-body version. Take my money, Jasen!
Definitely interested in picking one of these bad boys up when they go on sale
You’d want a 2.0 then.

Oh, my mistake… hope you get back soon.
I really want one of those panels.

Can you make it with the 95mm spacing from the joystick to the action buttons?
Anybody ever carry a supergun through an airport either with checked bagging or carry-on?
I have the older diy Supergun model (Mk 48 I think is the correct nomenclature?) Call me paranoid but I don’t want TSA trying to open this thing up before it gets to/from the tourney. Should I have anything to worry about? Sorry for the unusual question

I carry electronics all the time in a Pelican case, but I check it. Don’t want some silly TSA agent to look at it and be confused and ask a million questions… and that’s through PreCheck where they are supposed to be smarter.

OH GOD CARRY IT ON
Atari, one of the ST heads in Toronto, took his Supergun to Summer Jam. He then checked it on his way back to Canada. He had wires loose in his video connections and a busted jamma harness for his trouble.
I also checked a Saulabi in St. Louis, arrived in China with two of the legs snapped off the shell and a TSA placard INSIDE the Saulabi.
That Saluabi story has me wanting to carry on…
I guess I’ll just have to take my chances with TSA. Could they possibly turn me back or confiscate my Supergun if they think it’s a bomb or something?
Jasen , back yet ?
Nope. I will send a Tweet/Facebook/Newsletter message when I am back and taking orders, pre-orders, etc. Due to safety and security reasons I can’t tell anyone ahead of time so please don’t ask “when”, or “where are you?”, etc.
I appreciate the demand for my panels, parts, etc. but Navy obligations come first until I can find trusted, reliable help to run the shop while I am gone.
The only time they can legally confiscate something is if it is a weapon or actually has an explosive. They’ll open it and most likely break it but if there is no explosives in it they cannot confiscate it.
What the devil is a Saluabi
