Is the new Panzer Fight Stick 2.0 going to be a kit to add your own joystick, buttons and Encoder?
Yes, thatās the plan. It will also be available fully built out.
I will still offer the PS360+, a PS3 only encoder of my own design, Kaimana Khameleons, USB cables, and some of the RJ45 - Console Cables. You should only have to wander out to other sites for 11 buttons, a lever and a balltop (once I run out).
Curious are the all gonna have that db-25 neutrik for USB and rj45 portsā¦I will only be playing on consoleā¦ No Supergun for meā¦is there going to be an option for just USB/neutrik?
There is a DB 25 Neutrik?
You mean DB 15, and there are on the market blanks that are sold to cover unused ports. Including unused spots for the DB 15 port and neutrik devices.
I put db-25 since that what jasen said in one of his earlier postsā¦wasnāt sure the name but what I mean is db-15/neutrikā¦Iād just prefer one port without having to use covers but thatās just me and my personal preferenceā¦ Iām still in for a pfs2.0 was just curious is all.
I suprised I missed it, he did say āDB-25 portā.
But no, all the Neutrik devices are intended for XRL panels (used on high end studio recording audio equipment), we arcade enthusiast re-purposed them for Arcade sticks.
The DB 25 is way too big for a XRL panel opening. Most I seen are for DE 9 or HD 15 connectors.
Jasen did use a DB 15 that included a break out board and screw terminals on his older Panzer and Super gun builds.
Then again if I think about it, the DB 15 is just enough connections for a 6 button (plus start and select)arcade stick.
Perhaps the other pins to accommodate more buttons and functions.
Hey Jasen is your new Panzer uses DB 15 or DB 25?
Each case will be made the same way. Three ports exposed at all times. The DB25 will be included as part of the system of systems. This allows for the use of external pad hack options so folks donāt have to open their stick. The one Neutrik cut out can be covered with a blanking plate/gasket so it looks like the other port.
I chose to do this for a couple of reasons:
-
Flexibility for everyone. There is no reason to limit what you want exposed. You can expose all connections or even have 1 USB connection for the PS360+ and the other for an internal PadHack for example. SuperGuns and Neo-Geo setups will benefit from this setup since all buttons are exposed at the DB-25 and I plan on making a simple adapter board to convert down to a DB15.
-
Cost savings. This makes the case more universal so it makes it more affordable. Instead of doing 25 of one type and 50 of another, doubling up on the setup fees, I lower the manufacturing costs by creating a higher quantity and hence a lower end point price. If I could forecast selling thousands of sticks like MadCatz, the cost would be even lower but at the boutique level that I operate, its just not possible.
-
Space savings, for me. Remember I operate out of my home. Keeping product on the shelf that doesnāt sell clutters up my life too much and costs too much money for the business. Operating at a loss isnāt a good motivation to keep going, and with the new agreement I have with the machine shopā¦ I have to press out more than 1 case at a time, even if I donāt have an order for it. Having multiple variants of a piece that should be universal doesnāt work with the new stick moving forward.
To prepare everyone for the new stick and how I will offer it, the initial release in September will be a pre-order (similar to the og PFS). This will be the ONLY time to get it in any color besides black. After this, the stick will only be offered in black sandtex, the most durable finish available (the panels will be either sandtex for those who donāt want graphics, or matte black for those who do want graphics). This is a departure from the way the original PFS was offered because of the cost and logistics associated with the multiple colors and again, keeping them on the shelf waiting for someone to want that odd ball color combo. This will benefit everyone long term because it means I can keep a few on the shelf ready to ship within 1-2 business days vs. 7-10 business days.
Hey Jasen I was wondering if you could upload the artwork template for the original Panzer stick? I have a design that I need to get out of my head right now
When you open up your store again Iāll definitely get something from ya
No problems:
OG Panzer Wrap - Top for All Layouts
Panzer Wrap - Bottom for All Layouts
Iāll still be printing/cutting OG PFS wraps despite them being discontinued.

Thanks man I really appreciate it!
Was wondering about the colors. Thanks for sharing that.
Black sandtex is great, tough with no smudges.

When it comes time to get the pre-orders done I will make sure everyone has plenty of advanced notice (Mid August). This way people can start thinking about what color combos they want (think top, bottom, and removable panel all different!).
The initial launch will feature both Vewlix 6 and 8 button panels since the internal PCBs are all the same and will be tested and ready for manufacturing by then. Noir and Hitbox will roll out after that, approximately 2 months spaced apart so I can thoroughly test the PCBs and not kill myself getting them all done
That Panzer 2.0 is looking really nice. Congratz on that. For now for my first stick I decide to go for a cheaper solution, but later for my second stick I will go custom and that panzer is on my list.
I apologize for the lack of Forum updates recently. I am happy to announce that I am back on land, have moved my family across the country to California, and am sitting in a barren house. Fortunately, that is all changing tomorrow and my stuff starts to arrive. I suspect that after this weekend I will be ready to start thinking about working on the shopās site, making the PFS 2.0 available for pre-order and more! I appreciate the overwhelming positive responses and support during my absence and look forward to getting back into the swing of things making all the cool quality stuff you enjoy!
For now I will leave the following for you get excited over:
I now have a 600 square foot ālabā to work in making builds and storage that much easier!
Naturally, I have a few personal projects that I have ready to work on including my first Capcom Big Blue:
I have been writing some information down and sharing it on the new Jasenās Customs Tech Blog. You might find something interesting here. If you want to contribute, please let me know!
And last but not leastā¦ because I love working with others and creating new things. I am happy to announce that ArcadeShock and I are collaborating on some fun stuff for the Hori PS3/PS4 VLX.
Cant wait!! I finally had money to get a panzer stick just in time for your store to close You can definitley chalk me up as a pre order for the pfs2.0 and im very excited to hear what you and arcadeshock have in store for the vlx.
Are we still selling parts to super guns?
You working as middle man to a bunch of obscure and hard to find parts was awesome.

I should have plenty of miscellaneous SuperGun parts left, and Iāll stock more as the need/demand rises
