Ok this probly should be in the tech thread but i dont know what im doing as far as stick tech goes, i just play.
So at SCR 2011, i bought a Fusion Sapphire and it was good at the time but now i hate it because i just don’t want to play with the seimetsu stick and buttons and all of 801 has complained and agreed that i should put sanwas on it. so here’s my question that should probly be in the tech thread or something: How do i go about getting the stick and the buttons off, i plan on checking how to put on sanwas but first i need to know how to take it apart. The stick just feels so bad and i’d sell the stick otherwise, but if i could put sanwas on it i feel that it wouldnt be a waste of the 210$ it was. So
1- is it possible?
2- How?
If it isnt possible then im going to see if i got a warranty for it and try to get a new one with sanwas like an ivory or something.
Im not hating, because i got the eLive RF stick and its the best stick ever, but i really want this Sapphire one to have sanwas, can anyone help or redirect me?
If that stick uses “quick connect” buttons (I know Fusions do now. Don’t know about back then), then it would be easy to pop out the buttons (from the inside of course) and switch them out with Sanwa quick-connect buttons. Just YouTube for a tutorial. I know when I looked for tutorials to switch out the artwork, removing the buttons was part of that process too.
Random question: I just bought a Fusion Ebony and can’t wait to get it! But anyway, I was wondering something. When you plug it into a PC, how does Windows label the buttons? I know Windows sees them as simply “Button 1”, “Button 2”, etc. I mean like which specific buttons show up as which specific "Button #"s etc. I’m making custom artwork now and would like to label this info on the artwork. I would like to be able to send my .pdf to Tek-Innovations.com now instead of waiting till my stick arrives and checking the PC hook-up myself.
Could’ve been a hit for me but… I’m not a fan of straight button layout. Leather bottom is a wtf? That will wear out and look worn faster than the generic metal bottoms on most retail sticks. O_O
Coming from a keyboard I’m pretty sure the the straight layout won’t bother me but I can see that being a problem for someone who has been using a stick for awhile. I think this product will be more popular with PC players who are getting into fighting games. Good point about the leather though, could be a problem in the future. I also don’t like how it’s mirrored planted on the side buttons it’s gonna be a fingerprint magnet.
Yeah maybe not a keyboard but keybinds are small though. Right now my perfect fit is the Namco Noir layout which is curved around for your hand like a keyboard typing rest position. There’s nothing better than having a natural alignment for these controllers IMO.
In the official Qanba thread they have a picture of one with a Vewlix layout. Hopefully eightarc manages to get then in stock because it could get more people to buy the Q2.
What would I have to do to get the felt off the bottom of the Synthesis? I just don’t like how it feels and I’d rather have the metal. Do I purchase a new bottom or can I strip the felt off my hand?
Well the gimmick behind the qanba q2 is it’s “reversible” for southpaws.
I however am buying one just because it has a straight button layout. Been waiting for someone to make one of these without going custom or having to buy a replacement plate for a TE.
That gimmick is the reason why I’m willing to buy it. Layout is a nice twist as well. I just wonder if the flipped controls is better suited to me like holding the wii nunchuk on my right hand and the wiimote on my left.
