Www.eightarc.com premium tournament joystick thread

We’ll cross that bridge soon.

Ok, seems weird to have the white version only available for ps3. Is there a particular reason for this?

Thanks for responding so fast! I second a pearl fusion, would buy that in a heartbeat.

I’m having trouble with the Fusion on the PC. On other Eightarc or Qanba sticks, I can hit the Mode button to switch my joystick input mode, but on the Fusion I don’t have that option.

So when I plug into SSF4 AE, it can’t read my joystick (but it can read my buttons).

This means that it works ok on emulators (since it can read both DP and LS) but not on SSF4 AE, is that the case? I already tested on an emulator so I know it works, but it’s a bit disappointing if you can’t switch modes with the Fusion to make it work on SSF4 AE PC.

Hi Nyoronoru. Let’s figure this out over email: info@eightarc.com and we can post the results on this thread afterwards.

We’ll need to know: Windows XP/7/etc

Also need to know: Version of SF4AE:
-Hardcopy disc
-Steam
-Windows Download
-Other

Posted earlier but I’ve since decided I’m gonn grab one as a christmas present for myself. I’m just worried about ordering, and a Pearl Fusion coming out.
Any idea if we’ll see this at all/before xmas?

Let’s just make this easier. All in favor for a Onyx &/or Pearl version of the Fusion quote this post.

Just ordered a PS3 ISO Onyx this morning, next monday cannot come fast enough  (assuming it’s actually going to take a week like ups is saying)

I would kill for a pearl fusion

Fixed the problem with the Fusion. Turns out it’s an AE thing. :o

Thanks Eightarc.

im still waiting for a Purple ISO, when it comes im buying it in a heartbeat

Eventhubs.com Review of Fusion Ebony and ISO PS3 Onyx
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/nov/09/eightarc-fusion-and-ps3-onyx-review-eventhubs/

Hey Eightarc guys, was wondering if the 360 Onyx works on PC as well, specifically on SSF4 AE. The IGN review mentioned that it doesn’t, which is really strange given that my other 360 sticks are detected right away on my PC. Hope you can clear this up, thanks!

It works on PC, however AE was messed up by Capcom which IGN didn’t know about by the sounds of things. If people have been able to get their other sticks working with the game, then it’s by all means possible with this stick.

Try pressing the ‘mode’ button when configuring the joystick in-game. Though if someone could confirm that using a 360 Onyx / Q3-XS…

Wait… didn’t EightArc include a ‘mode’ button with the 360 Onyx?

I’m still a bit confused on the Fusion PC issue. Is this recognized fully like the MadCatz TE is in AE? I was just about to hop over to their site to order one until I saw this. Well, that and being out of stock :frowning:

Yes. Just make sure you’ve updated AE to the latest version.

I have the PS3 Pearl and want to upgrade my 24mm Start, Home, etc. buttons to Sanwa, Seimitsu, etc. Does anyone know the dimensions of the stock buttons or a model that fits? Also, does anyone know of a place where I can get custom USB covers for eightarc sticks (different colors, USB B-type plug or Neutrik)?

OK, I just opened up my stick, removed the Turbo button and then measured the button and the hole. Here is what I came up with:

Threaded shaft length = 0.9375 in = 23.8125 mm
Threaded shaft width = 0.8750 in = 22.2250 mm

MDF hole outside = 1.1875 in = 30.1625 mm
MDF hole inside = 1.0000 in = 25.4000 mm

MDF thickness = 0.5000 in = 12.7000 mm

Based on my research at Lizard Lick Amusements, Gremlin Solutions, etokki, etc. this is a very non-standard button. It seems even most “24mm” buttons are made to fit a 28mm mounting hole. It’s the button face (the part that you actually depress) that seems to be around 24mm. In fact, once you add the “lip” around the button, you are usually looking at around 33mm total. So neither the inside nor the outside diameter of the hole are large enough for most buttons…

If only the inside were too small, I could route/dremel the hole a bit… But the outside is too small for the button lip and I cannot mess with that without possibly effecting the paintjob. So I may be stuck with the stock buttons…

In other news, I am working on a dual-console mod using the Paewang Revolution PCB and am still looking for someone that can fabricate a replacement USB panel. I’m wanting white (trying to match the “Pearl” theme) with a hole for the Neutrik USB adapter. I emailed Art from Tek Innovations and have not heard anything yet. Is this something that a local acrylic or metal fabrication place would do? If so, how much do you think they would charge?

Basically, I am working really hard to create a PS3 Pearl Fusion.

Would LOVE to see a youtube video by you guys showing exactly how to change out art.

Will be modding the living hell out of this early next year with LED’s and a buncha other goodies. I’ll always love my custom cases, Green Goblin’s and TE… but this case is just killer. It’s gonna get the new “Player 1” treatment in my house.

Got a Brand New PS3 Ebony for sale in the Trading Outlet if anyone is interested:
