I’ve just picked up this game and I was wondering who plays it and what characters you use? I play with the pie eatting, jabroni smacking, most electric entertainer in wrestling “The Rock”. The counter system seems really solid IMO.
I picked up All Stars for my PS3 on release date and love it! My favorite characters right now are HBK, Warrior, and Randy Savage.
Many of the other wrestlers seem fun to use and I am looking forward to mastering every Superstar and Legend in the game…

Right now, I’m playing as Jake the Snake and Andre the Giant because I love juggle combos. Early in the game, grapplers IMO are going to dominate because no one has all the reversal timing down for grapple chains, but as soon as players start to get the hang of it, I think the best wrestlers are going to be the ones with long, strong, and guaranteed chain combos like Hogan and Kane.
Yea this game has some depth to it. It could grow into a tournament worthy game. This is one of the games I will keep on my radar for a possible side tournament at FR15 next year.
how many mins does 1 match usually take? how is the online experience so far?
Hey Larry. I already made a thread HERE. Im definitely trying to have this game get some solid tournament representation. I definitely wanna see this getting play at Final Round next year. Ive been compiling character info and doing short strategy/combo write-ups for each character as well. Its taking a while but as they are done you can just click on their name in the FIRST post of that thread and it goes right to them. No better way to build a scene than to make sure proper info is available.
Myself, ShadowAce, Odin, SoVi3t and a few others are also compiling a players listing so please go in there and state who you are and what system you intend to play on. We are proposing the idea of doing a team tournament of “Bragging Rights”. Team Raw (360) vs Team Smackdown (PS3).
I would like any input anybody could give and any help with new strats is always appreciated.
EDIT: to answer the above question. a match when played properly should take no longer than maybe 5-8 minutes if not shorter. the game has a lifebar like a fighting game which is a really good touch. also matches can end in pin or in K.O. (this is done by using your finisher when the opponent is in flashing red health). This really is more of a fighting game than a wrestling game though. online play is pretty fun for this game. Usually i get average players and I win, or really good players everyone so often. Ricky Steamboat is top tier imo. He can just run away and jump off turn buckles and his Finisher is off of one so you don’t have to worry about a grab. His Finisher also can hit more than 1 person if their getting pinned or next to each other.
