WTS: PSX -> JAMMA/Supergun converters [in stock!]

Yeah I have a 9000TB myself. I have been doing some research too. Look at this:

I’m fairly certain this is for using a 9000TB with a PS2. Maybe this helps, maybe it doesn’t. I’m not sure.

Most likely I’d say the round outer shell of the connector is the ground.

Here’s some better pictures

Hope this helps.

That looks the same, yeah. But I have no idea how to find out where the ground pin is. Is it something I can find for you?

Just to let you know, I’ll buy 2.

The neo geo pinout is also incorrect (left and right are reversed) and the Sigma AV7000 pinout has only 21 pins listed instead of 22 (pin 1 is actually N.C.) and the numbering of 16, 17, 18 is repeated for the last three pins. Good luck relying on that page for anything…

It’s my only one, unfortunately. If I do that, it’ll ruin it.

I’ll see what you can do. If all else fails, can’t you order one yourself?

laugh, how much for a converter PCB with PSX connector but no DB15 and no plastic case?

BTW I found a few pics of the inside of the Sigma stick:

It turns out that the pinout on that page is correct and none of the 13 pins are ground which consequently can only be the connector/cable shield:

Howdy folks

Here is a picture from the 9000TB “manual”. The connector is indeed a 13-pin DIN, and yes, these are used in car audio (I even found a place that sells them with all 13 leads already soldered). Anyway, I’m not quite sure what to make out of the ground.

I have an extra cable which came w/ the AV7000 unit (DIN13->DIN13) which I can donate to be looked at. Would be nice to get it back as they’re pretty expensive considering what they are.

I would probably be interested in a converter. I have a Sigma PS cable, but would like a spare just in case. Do you make them for any other systems? Saturn, specifically?

Sounds good. I think you should definitely start making these as people at shmups.com are interested in purchasing from you, too.

I can’t say where you could buy these, maybe GaijinPunch can help with that.

GaijinPunch - Do you have any links of that place that sells these 13pin DIN cables with pre-soldered pins?

Yep! Good old Google delivers:

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I’m all backwards. I’m kind of in love with my 9000TB, and use it on my PS2, and Saturn/DC via the Sigma PS cable + adaptor for each system. It’s a bit ugly, and going through the PS cable means I get a turd button layout on the Saturn (the DC you’re doomed pretty much any way you go). The Sigma Saturn cables are LOOOONG gone. I did happen to luck out and get an 8000TB Saturn cable, and a shmups user was kind enough to make me a converter to use that on my 9000TB. So, I can live. If you ever look at going the other way, talk to me. I would indeed be interested.

It’s also possible that there is no ground and it’s a common line system…

They’re often on ebay:

Cheaper than the one in Gaijinpunch’s link and it has two male ends. The question is whether it is fully wired. I’ve seen that the DIN-13 connector is also used for guitar equipment.

No, because the Sigma supergun is meant to play jamma boards and jamma boards use ground as the common line for controls. Also if you look at the pics I posted you can see that the stick microswitches are connected to the ground plane on the PCB (blue wires) and even the buttons are connected to ground through a switch that selects autofire mode or normal use (i.e. grounded).

Just so long as you can make these, the price doesn’t bother me.

I stand corrected.

Awesome, thank you.

Laugh,

I love the designs. I’m getting two, so can I get one of each?

I’ll send you your money this week okay? Wow, they look great.

Thanks,
Vic

Laugh,

I’m not sure… My Atomiswave Consolized has Neogeo pinout controller ports or jamma and PS2 system has PS2 pinout. I’ve hss-0130 for dual joystick control box. I want control box port to both system.

I want to fun on Coin Doors is also working on Atomiswave but Is working on PS2??

Yes, right. I’ve HSS-0130 dual arcade stick but into empty no pcb. I worked 56 pinout jamma on Atomiswave. I want HSS-0130 dual stick on both consolized Atomiswave and PS2

You can’t order them online?
