we’ll get it worked out, no probs

haha glad you like the stick

finks

Since FlashMetroid recieved his stick, I’m hoping mine finally got through customs and on it’s way. Unless they lost the package, which I’m assuming

Noel, it’s almost been 30 days so I’ll let you if it hasn’t arrived by Monday.

please do, i have been hounding the postal service everyday i’m sure they are sick of me by now but i’m not giving up.

maybe finally they are moving out of customs. after the flash incident I dont see how a red wire could get cut or otherwise unless of course someone in customs thought they were diffusing a bomb? i know there’s a shitload of wires in there and the recent “laden” tapes surfacing could make people paranoid in certain places. I wonder if this is why so many things are being delayed?

yeah its just a theory, but I do send a bunch of these things out at any given time

hmmm

The post office is watching you Finks =P No I keed.

Since You prob didnt get my PM, i uess I’ll jut email you. Lemme know when ya get it please.

more to follow soon

Since I have been using it for a while (two months) I figured that I would do a write up on your joystick.

I have never owned a joystick before the one I got from finkle, and quite frankly I really sucked at using it for about 3 weeks. After that though it has been smooth sailing. I see why everyone swears by joysticks now… it’s just so much more precise. So once I acutally got the feel for the joystick I started getting a little more rough with it. Man this stick can take a beating. It seems indestructable. I really wrench on the joystick and slam on the buttons sometimes… but they still are just as responsive as the day I got it. I only ran into one problem, the connector between the joystick and the pcb (the 4 pin harness) came loose one time… most likely due to me getting a bit overzealous. All I had to do was open it up and reconnect it and everything worked like a dream.

I cannot give enough praise to this stick. It has become my tool of choice for laying down the law in 3S.

Noel, once I get enough money… expect a return customer.

this is what I like to hear!
there is a little bit of a learning curve I think going from one controller to the next but once everything is sorted out i’m sure the pros outweigh the cons.

I’m glad to hear that it’s holding up better than you have expected and futhermore you are getting your moneys worth every step of the way!

since I dont use the standard 5-pin JST connector sometimes it can come out but it’s usually rare like you said.

well, when you’re ready to get another one I will be more than ready to build one for you. I guess thats a biggest compliment of all, a return customer is usually a happy one

thanks again brandon for your support and excellent words!

I couldn’t believe it, USPS finally delivered my stick today. Even though they waited till the last minute to deliver it, I’m just happy that I finally recieved it

Now on to my review of the stick:

(Pictures by Noel)

Body
The body of the stick has a nice medium weight to it which feels very sturdy and stable while playing on a table. The size is a little bigger than a strategy guide or a magazine, and fits comfortably on my lap when I’m playing. It’s pretty thin (not Byrdo thin) but provides a comfortable height when playing with it on my lap and looks nice since it’s not fat. The black stained wood looks amazing in person since you can’t see the details in a picture. It’s everything you would expect from a professional with great craftsmanship

Stick
To help people deciding on parts, I have all Seimitsu so I can give a review of those. The Seimitsu LS-32 stick seems to be shorter than a Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y and slightly stiffer, but no where near the stiffness of a Happ P360 stick. When I move the stick around, I can clearly feel the shape of a square which makes it easy to block or do charge moves, but I don’t get stuck on the corners when doing rapid QCF motions like with a Sanwa. My execution has definately improved immediately going from a stock Hori stick to a Seimitsu :wgrin:

Buttons
The Seimitsu PS-14-GX are not convex nor concave, they’re flat so it feels a little different. A little bit more resistance than the Sanwa OBSF-30, but a lot less than stock Hori buttons. When I press a button, I can really feel it so it’s easy to do EX moves or Piano with them. The Seimitsu PS-14-D start/select buttons feel a little stiffer than the main buttons and are higher than the start/select buttons on a Hori stick (same height as the main buttons). But overall the buttons look amazing with the black bezel, which is the only reason people want Seimitsu buttons in the first place :wonder:

Customer Service
Noel definately has the best customer service I’ve ever encountered. When I was ordering the stick, I’ve had lots of questions since I was about to throw down $200+ on a custom stick with parts I’ve never dealt with before. Things like how different a Seimitsu stick feels, compatibilty with a Dual Shock PCB, etc. Noel answered all of them and gave me confidence in my purchase. When there was a confusion with the final price, Noel gave me the price that was cheapest. Like most people, I was eager to find out the status of my stick and Noel would keep giving me updates though he was busy. And finally, when USPS took a very long time with the package (past the 10 days), I wanted to call them up but instead Noel did it for me. He’s always ready to bend backwards for his customers

So in closing, keep building sticks Noel. It’ll be a shame if people miss out on your amazing sticks. I’m definately satisfied with my stick even after waiting 9 weeks. I’d just recommend that people go for EMS shipping so they don’t have to wait as long as I did. And long wait or not, it’s definately worth it. Much love for Noel :lovin:

oooooooooooohhhhhhh man!

i’m damn happy that made it, I’m gonna be honest with you, I was beginning to lose faith that it was going to arrive. I was going to go out over the weekend and get all the material I would need to build a new one for you.

This is really good news, i’m glad they finally got their act together and finally released the packages. I’m sure all the other ones will finally make it to their new homes!

thanks so much for the thorough and positive review and thank you for encouraging me to continue building sticks for people. I wasnt so sure if I was going to continue with the unfortunate events over the past couple of weeks but seeing I still have a place here in the community I will continue doing the best I can.

thanks again for your support and your kind words.

Email and PM sent. After reading this thread and seeing the photos, I’m pretty sure what I want.

Thanks everyone for the reviews and opinions you put in this thread, very helpful.

Hey finkle. Just checking to see if you got my email. No rush. Just want to make sure you got it.

I have serious problems lol

ok my stick is perfect but randomly the stick hits start and select and im gonna attempt to fix it

would it be wise to just cut the whole wire where its cut and then soder the wires up myself? thats the only logical thing i could come up with

hey!
on its own or from hitting the other buttons being they’re close to the other buttons?
see, I’m not a fan of quick disconnects from the get go, if you want to solder them directly by all means go for it. I would have done them all this way but I know alot of people don’t know the hot end of the soldering iron from the handle so I try to make things easier. I dont blame people for this, it’s not exactly a common tool in everyday use.

it wouldnt hurt to try, this I hope this isnt related to the fact that the power wire was cut (slit) i’m still trying to figure out how that happened especially since it’s pretty protected!

let me know how you come on, either way I will tune up the joystick when you get to Toronto.

strange stuff indeed

Finks

Cow: working on the PCB situation, will let you know my findings soon

hmm I never thought that the quick disconnects would be the porblem hmm interesting

i’ll send it to you if you pay shipping. it’s a spare from a brand new us tekken 5 stick. never used. just like to help if I can. not sure if this is the prob though.

i wouldnt know how to put it on if its not too hard sure lol

Just some quick questions:

I know it’s 160 for a basic sanwa stick, but how much for Seimitsu stick and buttons?
Do you have stock art?
and… I’m assuming you use quick disconnects for the buttons/joystick?

Thanks!

depending on the type of buttons used price should stay pretty close to the same as the sanwa based stick. special buttons like the GX (RG Like) or the K (clear type) series buttons will be extra and could be worked out. if it’s just the regular seimitsu buttons like the PS-14-G or PS-14-GN then I can keep the price pretty close to the sanwa based stick.

for artwork, most people like to supply their own image but if time is on my side I dont mind making something just keep in mind i’m no picasso but i’m ok.

quick disconnects isnt a problem, come with the stick.

if you need to know anything else drop me a PM

finks

today i have received my stick in the mail even though it took more than 10 days, 3-4 weeks to be exact. (stupid usps, damn laggers!!). anyway…

the body of the stick is very neat. its a bit smaller in terms of height then the other one i have from finkle before. the weight is perfect, it doesn’t move around and plus the stopper makes it stays in place even though i play pretty aggressive at times. so thats a good thing. i love it =D

playing with this stick feels so much easier for me to play on. the stick is little stiff than the sanwas. the button is also the same. its very easy for me to get use to it. i love it even more!

and again, if anyone wants a stick, you guys should definitely get it from finkle. super nice guy and guarantee you guys will be satisfy with his sticks and his services.

thanks again finkle, you’re a great guy. take care!
