WTS: Custom Sanwa Arcade Stick(s)

Dark purple!!! =P…just bumpin dis thread =D

I recieved my stick today somehow… don’t ask me how because I was expecting it around Friday!

I would have posted earlier but I was using the stick… :stuck_out_tongue:

Two minor trifles came with it though…

  1. It seems someone took their anger out on my stick and the wooden panel on the left side of the stick was consequently crushed in a bit… kind of like a pimple on Jessica Albas face…

  2. It does not lay flat on a flat surface… it is about 1/4 of an inch off… this can be easily solved by adding in some extra pads on the bottom of the two sides that cause it to rock back and forth.

I will post pics once I stop using it for another 10 minutes.

sorry to hear about this,

Since I didnt send it out with a dent in the wood chances are it got beat up during shipping since I would never send something out that didnt meet my specs. I have had problems in the past with things getting hit or totally destroyed. one thing I sent out no matter how much bubble wrap and padding is used I find the postal service can act like animals. one time I sent out an empty box and it looked like it was run over with a truck :frowning:

if it’s warped I know I didnt do that, I usually lay them on a flat surface before I send them out to ensure there is very minor wobble present. 1/4" is quite a bit I would never package anything that was off that way so perhaps it has to do with “someone who took their anger out on it” its unfortunate this had to happen. as a possible remedy to this twist, slightly loosen the top and bottom screws slightly lay it on a flat surface and push downwards and re-tighten the screws. I really dont like USPS, even things I get from other people are usually beat up pretty badly when they arrive at my door.

I have been considering changing shipping methods but I try my best to keep things as cost effective to the end user. I wouldnt want you guys to have to pay any additional fees which shipping companies may charge.

I stand behind my products so I just want people to know I wouldnt half ass anything and I think my reputation speaks for itself. nothing leaves my hands without close inspection so anything that happens after the fact I really have no control over. when I sign the customs paperwork and the box gets stamped I just take a deep breath and hope it makes it to its destination safely.

In the end I see you’re playing and enjoying it, I wish things could have gone smoother issues like this are pretty rare or non-existant all together.

It definitely was not your fault man… I know your work… I read the entire thread before I even considered buying it. The praise is universal.

The box looked like someone beat it up… with a bat… silly USPS people must have played some soccer with it… :annoy:

Don’t worry about it man… it is fully functional and stunning stick. :lovin:

If it was more than what it is… I might consider asking you to repair it… but it really isn’t anything that effects my gameplay.

well thats cool brandon, I just didnt want you or anyone else to think that I would send something out that was in that condition. but if there’s anything I can do just let me know, in the next couple of days when you have time I will ask for complete measurements of the left side plate and I will make you a new one free of charge

PM sent finkle :wgrin:

I just recieved my stick from Finkle! I’ve got nothing but praise for you my friend, awesome job!

Awesome Cotton! thanks so much! glad you’re happy with it!

Hey Finkle! I’d like to ask how much would it cost to ship one of your great arcade sticks to Chile, South America. Thanks in advance!

Finkle: Just wanted to know if you started with my stick yet, not trying to rush you or anything, just excited is all heh

Hi,

I was wondering if you could give me a quote on the smallest stick you can possibly build in aluminum with the long Sanwa buttons and standard microswitch Sanwa stick in blue with some clean Ryu art (like the Ken art in http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y239/suite53sticks/commissioned%20work/edison-002.jpg ) with Ryu wearing blue gi + yellow bandanna.

Thanks!

Also, a friend of mine wants to get a stick too, and he wants to know what the usual size for your boxes are (I assume both in wood and in aluminum). Also, if I order more than one stick, is there any form of discount?

hey noel,

how’s it going? anyway just wondering…how’s the stick going now?

Sup. Was wondering if you can also give me a qoute on a all sanwa stick with 8 buttons(6 buttons + select/start). I want the joystick and buttons placement to be as arcade perfect a possible. Coming from a hrap2, that arrangment is what i want. Here are some links to for you can see.

Hrap2:

Sega cab:
http://internet.watch.impress.co.jp/cda/parts/image_for_link/2925-1499-2-2.html

Here is a qoute from fubarducks hrap2 review on joystick/button placement.

So, HRAP2 has the most arcade-perfect button layout, and the distance from the joystick to the buttons is exactly the same as non-Tekken 5 and Atomiswave fighting games.
Here are the exact measurements (from the edge of the plastic ring of the joystick to the left edge of the top-left button):

Sega Impress/Astro City/VS City: 3 centimeters.
Tekken 5: 4.25 centimeters
Atomiswave: 4.5 centimeters.
HRAP2: 3 centimeters.

So, HRAP2 has the most arcade-accurate controls on a retail joystick to date. =)

So i guess 3 centimeters is what i want.Hope that helps. Sorry if this seems like a lot.Thanks.

The first of the mass produced curved topped sticks appears! As expected it looks fantastic Noel. : )

~Paik

That is very nice :).

Noel,
Why did you photo his stick atop what appears to be a trash lid? That’s just subtle insults right there! And the lighter behind the stick in the other two pics… are you saying you want to burn it? Come now, I think it looks great! I am starting to fear what you think of mine as you work on it!

… kidding! Nice work!

Even the trashcan is clean. ;o)

Damn thats a good looking stick. Lucky buyer

whoa =D that looks awesome noel, thanks you very much. i can’t wait =)

maybe i should have waited a couple of months so i could have chosen that design. Nice looking stick!
