For sale is a nearly NOS Saturday Night Slam Masters arcade game conversion kit made by Capcom. The reason I say “nearly” NOS is because it has some shelf wear from being in my possession. I purchased the kit new many years ago, but do to the fact that the board had already suicided, it has just moved around my shelves waiting for me to fix it someday. Well that “someday” came about a week ago and after a clean de-suicide procedure, this baby is up and running 100% (many thanks to the kind folks over at The Dead Battery Society for providing all the information for this procedure!). For those of you not familiar with the procedure, it renders the board impervious to suicide every again (no battery replacement necessary in the future).
As you can see from the photos, this kit is factory complete, which includes:
- Controls for all 4 Players
- Test Button Bracket w/ Buttons
- Wire Harness for Extra Players
- Uncut Top Sign / Header
- Black Monitor Bezel
- Instruction Manual
- Control Panel Overlay
- Factory Box
- The Game Itself
As I mentioned earlier, this kit has been moving around with me for many years, and as a result has sustained a few minor bumps and knicks that I would like to mention so that you know exactly what you are purchasing (for you picky collectors ). The top sign still has it’s protective paper coating on the face, but the paint side suffered a scratch at some point (see photo’s). There are a few small knicks on the opposite side, right along the edge which would be hidden when installed. The manual was removed from the kit at some point and somehow got pressed up against a PCB, so there are little divots noticeable on the back. The monitor bezel was just barely larger than the factory box, so it has some bending on the outer edges (it is just a black bezel, so if one is picky, they could easily make their own at the time of installation). The factory box is large and heavy, so having been shipped at least twice, it is not in perfect shape. I will wrap it in butcher paper when I ship it, as to avoid further scuffing, stickers, etc.
