I really need that stick…
…yeah
thankfully you guys all beat me to it and placed orders on your sticks before I got too.
Been following this whole fiasco on the thread to see what ends up happening.
This is kinda shady.
does anyone on SRK know him IRL?
I think GuMz does.
I remeber him posting about him earlier in this thread. I guess wed be best of talking to him.
ok I found some info I think that anyone in these threads may know him:
thread one
also maybe we can get a thread going entitled "anyone personally knows paintedpale in real life? etc.
shit ain’t no joke. I need that stick.
Good luck guys.
Thankks we need it!:woot:
painted, your PMS are full…
hey man,
I saw your thread, I’ll definately take a full custom Sanwa, but I need it for 360 with QDs. Do you think you could make one of those?
I’ll give you details on the style/art etc once you get back to me. Also i’ll need a price on a JLF/6 button american layout + guide/start/select/octagonal gate/bat top.
Thanks
read the thread?
FUCKIN A’hole! sigh
Does he have any real life friends here? Maybe they could help out?
most likely he does I think those threads may help,if not maybe we can make a thread asking if anyone knows him…
Any luck emailing his “friends?”
It might be time to figure out paintedpale’s IRL info, fatboy.
just saw paintedpale at a tournament yesterday… he said he knows about the complaints here, but he isn’t able to get on SRK, so that explains the silence, i guess.
he also said that he sent out the sticks for the people that he sent pics to. he should probably hit up the tracking numbers on the shipments and see what’s going on, or something, but he still has some issue with being able to communicate with the customers here.
i didn’t get many details, since i’m kind of anti-social & don’t know him very well, sorry…
Though it’s not of my concern or business, the fact that a number of people like Paintedpale have taken others’ money and not even bothered to contact any of those customers for literally months at a time, or delivered the product or refund as promised, regardless of what kind of situation you are going through, is shameful. Even if you end up in a situation where you can’t produce the goods or pay back the customers for some time, the customers at the least deserve an explanation and the ability to know that the person who took their money is still there and available, even if the product agreed upon is not. I don’t care what you’re going through, the cost of a joystick is not chump change - you do not have the right to disappear and not communicate with those who you owe a product or money to. In this day and age there is no reason that you are not able to contact your customers, whether it be through srk, the contact info within paypal where you received the payments, or email correspondence.
I’ve been in the same situation before many times, where people will take my money then act like giving me what I paid for in a timely fashion isn’t important since they’re in some sort of trouble themselves. It’s frustrating, and it’s plain thievery. People here on this forum need to understand that if you sell something, you are obligated to deliver that product or give the money back - if your customers are willing to give you time to collect yourself and your matters if there is a need, then don’t take that for granted and treat them like fools. Grow up and don’t take others time, money, and patience if you aren’t able to cope with it even when you run into trouble. People might be sympathetic to your situation, but in the end, you owe them a product or refund, and that’s what really matters - what you’re going through isn’t important to anyone but yourself, and you’re either going to fulfill your end of the deal or have some angry people wanting your head. This is especially true since you’re selling your products to the small group of people you think you associate with, who enjoy the same kind of games enough to spend $150+ to enjoy them fully among likeminded gamers.
If Paintedpale finally shipped the joysticks out and fulfilled his orders, kudos to those who’ve waited patiently through the whole mess. Just because you’re dealing with an individual instead of a faceless corporation shouldn’t mean you have to tolerate waiting months of silence with no idea if you’ll be getting what you paid for or your money back. Just because he had the unfortunate and tragic loss of a friend doesn’t mean he has the right to put whatever he feels like in front of his obligations to you as a business. Paintedpale and others in his situation - though I don’t know you guys personally, your actions tell me more than enough that there’s alot to be learned here regarding responsibility and priorities. Moral of the story? Don’t take money then disappear regardless of what kind of predicament you’re in, thinking that you don’t have time to deal with it - just letting people know you were still alive would have been enough to keep things under control until you were ready to finish the orders off.
My wife actually keeps the customer’s money in the paypal account until a few weeks after they receive the stick. Once we know that the stick is okay and in the customer’s hands, then we transfer the money to our bank account.
We had a problem once, where a stick was damaged in shipping. The customer received it, notified us, we paypal’d them money for shipping it back to us, when we couldn’t fix it properly, we refunded them all of their money on top of the shipping and then threw in like an extra $20 for the hassle.
When you take $150-200 of someones money and then keep it for like a month or more, refunds are not enough.
I am very sorry to see this trend with so many retiring builders.
Yeesh, sorry about that guys.
I agree with both Koi and TMO on this situation and if PP has sent out the sticks then this ugly situation should finally be resolved. Unfortunately PayPal wasn’t able to issue me the refund I was looking for because it has been quite some time since I have payed PP. Oh well, I’ll be looking forward to the stick and I hope the other buyers would be satisfied with this end result.
Thanks ‘__’ for the info, you’ve put me at ease with this situation. :lovin:
I just hope I don’t have to wait until May for said stick. :wasted:
