def looking for a wico now
That’s an easy fix man, little bit of soldering and you’re back in business.
Indeed. I actually had to do this on purpose for a P360 once due to clearance issues within the case. I would also add that it’s generally a good idea to have some type of cover on quick disconnects. Like this:
yeah i fiuxed it already lol
still looking for another tho
hmm so I actually got my hands on some wicos! I got a pair of the OG red ones, that SNAKE recently posted WTB: wico p360
The problem is, the stick is clearly not functioning properly. I haven’t installed it and tried it but the stick doesn’t even stay firm in neutral and it’s just really loose, even though I can see the spring there. Hopefully the pcb, the most important part, is fine. I know these red P360s were originally made to fit in to the competition sticks. does anyone know if I buy a new comp stick if this red pcb will fit??
It sounds like the problem with the stick is that the pivot is shot or maybe the spring isn’t seated right or isn’t stiff enough, a cracked housing could also be the issue. It could be one of the three issues or a combination of them. The old red bottom p360’s were originally a retrofit kit for the wico 8-way leafswitch stick. So a wico shaft from one of those joysticks would work if it is that style of a joystick. I say that because there were also red bottom p360 adapter kits made for happ sticks like the super and ultimate. What kind of joystick handle came with the ones you bought? Does it look like a wico leafswitch housing or a happ housing?
Thanks for the quick response =)
I’m not sure I can answer your questions but I took some pics.

I hope that’s enough info. As you can see, you were probably right about the pivot being shot. And the actuator and the E clip don’t even touch either.
Anyway, any recommendation on how to get this to work right?
Something is on backwards. I forgot which part but mine came like that. It was just not assembled right. Hope that’s your problem.
Agree with Fifty8mm that could be the issue. After looking at the joystick pictures you posted for a while it most likely looks to me like a p360 adapter to a Happ ultimate joystick base. Did it come with a battop that looks like a Happ ultimate joystick handle? If it is that means you could probably just buy a Happ ultimate joystick and steal the parts off of it that you need to fix your joystick.
There are exploded view diagrams of most of the Wico stuff floating around.
As far as I know the Wico P360 Kits where designed to replace the leafswitches in their OG sticks. Honestly the stick you’ve got kind of looks like its been Frankensteined together. A picture of what the parts look like completely disassembled would be very helpful.
Yes, the original red bottom wico p360 kits were made for og wico leaf switch joysticks but apparently before wico bought out perfect 360 controls to make the all in one wico 360 they also made adapter plates to use the p360 kits on happ super and ultimate joysticks as well. JDM714 and Kowal talk about it in the optical joystick discussion thread on page 7 of it The Optical Joystick Discussion .So after going back and looking at that thread I am positive what we are looking at here is a happ ultimate base mated to the p360 kit, in JDM714’s post where he first talks about it he links a picture http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Silverdoggg/media/WICO%20P360/DSCN0304.jpg.html if you look at the diagram assembly sheet that is in that picture you will see pretty much exactly what we are looking at with the pictures XMetal provided. Hopefully this will provide you enough information from the diagram to tell if the joystick that you have was assembled correctly. Sadly I haven’t been able to find any other pictures of that diagram picture . It seems that these cases where p360 kits where used with happ super or ultimate joysticks seem to be a lot rarer than the kits that were for the wico leaf switch joysticks. Hopefully this will help
Well I took a picture of the entire stick disassembled.

fifty8 and virtual, I tried turning moving around the larger white piece and that didn’t seem to work.
and virtual, so do you know what stick I could buy to use the pcb with?
Alright, from what I see in the pic that you provided it is based off a happ ultimate assembly. It looks like a old version of the ultimate though, as I took apart one of the ultimate’s that I have and some of the parts look a little different than yours does. The base on yours where the pivot sits also looks to be pretty worn from the pictures, also the pivot I have in my ultimate is a cylinder shaped one not like the bowl shaped one that you are showing. Tbh, what I would do is just buy a happ ultimate joystick and see what parts you can steal off of it to make your stick work right. Hopefully you might get lucky and quite a few parts from the new style ultimate stick are interchangeable with the old ultimate joystick parts. Another option may be trying to find a happ ultimate of the same vintage as the one that you have to use for parts, but honestly old vintage happ joysticks can be a pain to find. Unfortunately other than that there isn’t a lot of info on the p360 happ coverted sticks out there, maybe if that doesn’t work you could try contacting Kowal and ask him for his suggestions.
Edit: Something interesting that I just ran across on ebay. http://m.ebay.com/itm/350412946791?nav=SEARCH
That is the same vintage as the Happ ultimate joystick base that your joystick is and it is supposedly new old stock (nos) meaning that all of the parts should be new that you need to get your joystick working correctly. The major downside is that he wants quite a high price for it ($42.85 shipping included). The reason being is that the ones he has have Honeywell electronic switches instead of the usual Cherry microswitches, so because of that he is charging a premium. The bad part of it is if you buy this you will be paying his premium for microswitches that you are not using anyway. IMO before going with this expensive route I would make sure that the optics on your p360 are working 100%, because if they are not all of this is a waste of money. You might also want to still try a new happ ultimate and part swap with that if possible and use this option as a last resort.
Thanks for all that Virtual =) Yes, I’m going to have to test the actual PCB first, but if it works, I’ll def get a pair of those ebay sticks you linked to. I actually live pretty close so I can do local pickup too.
I’ll post back here about how it goes, thanks everyone for your help =)
fyi. based on the price he paid for this @ http://www.ebay.com/itm/171449932956 it im betting its a new peice of shit happ. just a heads up.
Yeah I agree with sethianO. You can see the Happ QA sticker on it meaning that it is a newer happ produced one. I wouldn’t buy it for the price he wants, there is too many issues with them.
