Hey guys, I’m hoping someone out there might be able to assist me with this. I’m looking make a wireless PS4 stick, but I need a padhack for it. Back in the day, I’d just do it myself, but school, work, and a 2 year old have made that next to impossible
It can be wired for six or eight buttons, either one is fine; if I was forced to choose, I’d say eight buttons are preferable but that’s not a deal breaker. I just need to make sure it has the directions, six/eight buttons, Options, and Home. Not sure about the touchpad part, I’m pretty willing to overlook that since most fighting games don’t really need it.
Also if there any suggested ways to get this installed in a classic TE shell which would also allow me to charge it, that’d be pretty dope.
If you are going to put it in a te case you can do what I did. You can wire a usb cable to the ds4. You just keep the cable in the cable compartment and use it only to charge or when you need to connect to a ps3. I find 10ft too tight for the te. I prefer only about 7ft.
Touchpad is easy to wire for the ds4. I recommend you get the functionality. You will mainly need to decide how many buttons you want to add to the te case. Do you want to keep the turbo panel and wire up touchpad to the turbo button and keep home as the ps button. If you do this then there is no need to add buttons.
But if you want to remove the turbo panel and get a full plexi you will need to add a button or so on the top near start/ select
This is good stuff, really appreciate this too. Ideally, I’d just re-use the Turbo button, in that case.
As far as charging goes, I had the same thought about just using a USB cable for charging purposes. I actually considered installing a Neutrik jack to allow a charge to pass through, keeping a short mini-USB cable inside which would always connect the DS4 to the Neutrik jack. That way, I could keep a however-long USB cable in the storage area like you suggested, then just plug it into the Neutrik when I need to charge it. No idea if that’s way more complicated than it has to be, but in my mind, it looks slick lol.
