i’m only interested in svr10 based on the fact that they did some good in 09 and actually listened to fans and increased the speed on the gameplay, hopefully this time around they kept that with the new features and didn’t remove anything heartbreaking (like how they kill my CAWs by just taking items out that people used) and it’d be worth pirating, i guess
09 was fucking fail.

09 was ass. The only cool shit they worked in there was for tag matches and it was only fun online. Otherwise, we got 6 short storylines where you play as a face and overcome the odds. After you’re done with that in a day or two, the only way you could actually make use of any CAW you made was exhibition mode just to fuck around or “Career Mode” where you pick your opponents and go on a storyline-less rampage until you have ALL the belts.
Fortunately SvR10’s Storyline Creator is going to let us make all the storylines we want with all the CAW’s we want and the online community (ie those CAW geniuses) expected by default to upload all kinds of awesome shit, I think by the time the game has come out and we’ve experienced it, they will have “done some good”

i actually play games offline with my friends, so i thought svr09 was pretty fun. i didn’t fuck around with CAWs or career much, I only played through Lord Jericho’s road to Wrestlemania, but I played a lot of singles and tag matches, and it was a vast improvement over 08 and 07.
i’m just not the dude who plays wrestling games alone. my favorite wrestling games are still no mercy and dor 2 tho.
It still needs to be a bit faster, as I think the grapple system is still fucked, but…
I digress.

The SD series of games have always been subpar IMO. Even the “great” games like HctP was just okay to me. If they can keep the existing graphics/animation and use either the FPR, AKI, or KoC2 wrestling engine, that would be the perfect game.

All of a sudden, my av gets a lot more relevant.
The first couple Smackdown games were great if you liked submissions, because those moves were broken. Just spam the shit out of them. Why those moves are invincible from being broken up by interference is beyond me. Walls of Jericho = GGPO.
But even funnier than that was The People’s Elbow. In one-on-one matches you had to let the Rock hit you with it if it’s triggered. No way to roll out of it. Yet it’s fucking useless if there’s a third person in the ring. You can knock him out of it the instant he starts running to the ropes.
And Hell in a Cell was a joke. Fighting on the top of the cage lost it’s entertainment when you realized how hard it was to get someone through that tiny-ass spot in the top. Wasn’t even any bigger than the ring.
In the first SD games, if the opponent didn’t submit, you could always go for the pin afterwards and you would still get the 3 count. That’s how broken the submission moves really were.
And HIAC matches are both hilarious/frustrating for all those motherfuckers who would just wait at the bottom of the cell until someone was thrown/fell off the top of the cell, and since that fall pretty much breaks people, you go for the easy pin (while the other guy has to wait like 30 seconds before they can get down manually). :bluu:
