Bret, Lugar, Doink were mid.
Bigelow and Yokazuna were the worst.
Not that the tiers really mattered since everyone had 54864769475968475 hit combo’s of any move.

I thought the only legit combos were the ones that used meter, you can counter everything else.
Also this is why I think the characters who can pick you up are good, you can’t counter out of that.

I think IYH actually had Super Pins (if not fatalities) for all characters, but I could never do them.

I really don’t think it would be fair at all if Randy Savage was in the game. He would be so far above top tier.
In previous wrestling games where Randy Savage was present, he literally broke the game. They learned their lessons… Randy Savage is just too awesome. He is the definition of awesome. Go ahead and look it up in the dictionary, you’ll see a picture of Randy right next to the word awesome.

also iirc savage and vince mcmahon have hated each other irl forever. thats why savage wasnt in legends of wrestlemania or whatever that shitty game was called. it’ll probably stay that way too since savage is almost warrior-level crazy and gives no fuck about his reputation or anything
Yeah, the fatality-ish moves were called Super Pins, loved playing IYH on psx :< so much fun, though the n64 wrestling game was too fun(I think it was WCW vs NWO world tour) I loved using the frankenstein wrestler’s club fist over the back of the head, got too many ko’s from that :china:

wcw revenge & wwf no mercy owned so hard, two of the best games on that console period
btw raven was god in revenge because he had some sort of special armbar that was impossible to rope break. also iirc scott norton was hella good in both wcw games
one thing i always wondered about was the wrestlers who had striking combos, like goldberg or the ninja. that seems like it would be really good since the guessing was all in your favor, but idk
who was tops in no mercy? i remember chris benoit actually had the best stats. back in the day i thought bradshaw was great because he has a crazy good heavy punch & clotheslines…

There were rumours a while back that Randy Savage slept with an under-age Stephanie McMahon, but it’s almost certainly 100% bullshit. I don’t think anyone really knows for sure, but there definitely seems to be some bad blood between the two
LOVE the N64 wrestling games, I only had a Saturn, but used to play WCW World Tour and Revenge at my mates place all the time. :wgrin:
I still think No Mercy is the best Wrestling game money can buy, I think the basic fighting engine and mechanics are much more fun than the recent SVR games.
PS1 wrestlers were better! And the PS2 ones were best!

Ric Flair once had this power as well, but as soon as he came back to WWE in the 2000s, he completely lost it.

and you are also right about the aki games on N64 being the best wrestling games of them all, and scott norton being rediculously good. I remember when we played that game we would always rush to pick him and then do like 100 power bombs in a row with him (since it was just one of his regular moves)
That was the reason why I used bradshaw. Everyone seems to forget about WM 2000. I guess because WWF No Mercy surpassed it. But in WM 2000, I think Taker was pretty good because of his punches and that the choke slam was a regular move.

Seriously, I remember playing that game when i was 5/6 years old. I swear my friend and I could NEVER figure out how to throw a person out of the ring!!! And pressing the R and L buttons would randomly do other cool moves lol. Ahh nostalgia!
I remember this one fondly when I was 12/13
It was pretty fun from what I remember. Even gameworks had an arcade for the game! I used to get 3 other friends to play and then it got really fun because it’s so chaotic with the amount of wrestlers on screen.
^Ah hell yeah, I played that Royal Rumble game on Genesis heaps, and I bought the follow up WWF Raw as well!
I also have that Royal Rumble 2000 game on Dreamcast I think.
