Wreck it Ralph: Good, or Bad?

Disney had the courage to stick all those villains in the same room together, so I wouldn’t write this off so easily. Don’t know why, but it has this Monsters Inc. feel to it.

Disney is trying to get the best of both worlds with this one. They are catering to both the children and the late 20s to 30-ish year old gamers who have children ready to see this movie. I’m stoked about it, and I don’t even have kids.

I’M GONNA WRECK IT!

Fuck what you heard, this movie will be great. Most little kids aren’t gonna get like 90% of the stuff in this movie. They’ll be vaguely aware that Pac-Man was a thing once, meanwhile adults (particularly gaming adults) can geek sack at all the references and nods toward their old favorite games.

This is the only movie in the past couple years besides TDKR that I actually want to go see in theaters immediately

Play Fix-it Felix Jr.

Disney went from Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to Seth Rogan and Sarah Silverman in two years. This movie is offensive to gamers and I am ashamed of disney that they’re really going through with this. Also the dialogue is horrible.

That’s what’s turning me off about this movie. I love the idea of a Video Game related movie, but the dialogue is just awful its like they are trying too hard to be funny and looks like the comedy only going to be cater to little kids. I was cringing at the little girl’s dialogue where she was repeating Ralph’s word in an annoying way.

I hated movies like Meet The Robinsons, Monsters vs Aliens, and Despicable Me where the comedy and dialogue only caters to little kids. Feels like this movie is going to be the same.

Like I said, the first post was a first opinion, sorry if it pissed you off so much, that while I liked the concept, I felt like it was going to cater to kids more than adults. Now I see it differently, and if you didn’t like the first opinion, fine by me, delete this thread if you want, I didn’t know it was gonna be such hassle in the first place.

Fucking Duh…it’s still Disney.

Don’t be.

At least Disney is not using Bison or Heihachi as the main character. Most of us cringe in fear of how Disney would portray one of these characters to entertain children throughout the course of the movie. Even Disney can’t turn a guy who killed Chun’s father into a hero. Lets not panic because some SF characters have a cameo or might spew a few lines that we wouldn’t expect them to say when the movie isn’t about them.

I like John C Reily and I really like Sarah Silverman but blatant pandering of this variety is quite a big turn off for me.

lol “The fucking dialogue is horrible.”

Taken from maybe 20 total seconds of “dialogue” in a trailer. The rest of the trailer was monologue.

I hate a children’s film company making movies for children!

Seriously, the nay-sayers’ arguments in this thread sound so fucking stupid that even if this trailer/concept didn’t appeal to me I would think twice about aligning my opinion with yours.

There was a lot more dialogue than just 20 seconds. The first line that people questioned came in around twenty seconds in though with the whole Zangief thing.

You want to know why I know this movie will suck? I guarantee you’ve probably seen this same movie several times over. Seriously, all they’re doing is jamming all the cameos into a “guy stuck doing a job he hates and looks for something more” script, and old washed up concept that’s been done time and time again, by disney no less. The Director/Writer is used to writing dry humor which will go over kid’s heads so he has to write/direct in a way he’s not used to. The cast is mediocre at best and ridiculous at the worst. Disney went from Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to Sarah Silverman And Seth Rogan in two years. The dialogue ‘is’ horrendous. I mean, seriously? “The kitten whispers and tickle fights are over”? Was the script written in crayon? Who writes dialogue like that on a piece of paper knowing JANE LYNCH has to read it, let alone say it, let alone attempt to act it out. And am I the only one who caught Disney’s avatar character in this movie, “Ralph” make that little shot against modern games during the FPS part of the trailer? Yeah, the same company that produced Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is trying to tell us that videogames are too violent now-a-days. Fuck this poorly written, preach heavy, mediocre, rip off and fuck every single cameo in it.

You know what other stories are done to no end?
Romeo and Juliet.
Hamlet.
“Princess” finding true love.
Unlikely hero embracing their fate.
And yet they’ve all been rehashed and made into classics.

God, you sound like such a joyless person. You make it sound like Disney has an agenda when in reality a character who has been stuck in the same watered down video game for “30 years” would likely make a comment like that about modern games. Also, the voice actors matter that much? Tell me… who were the voice actors in Aladdin besides Robin Williams? How about Mulan besides Eddie Murphy? Beauty and the Beast? Little Mermaid? Up? Ratatouille?

Monsters vs Aliens was funny and it did have some adult humor. Haven’t seen the other two.

All I want is for Bison to say “YES!”… just once.

Normally I’m a giant douche when it comes to modern movies and say everything looks like piss

But some part of me wants to watch this, and you bet your ass I will

In all seriousness the amount of butt-hurt over a mostly childrens movie is ridiculous. If you somehow find it offensive(fuckin really?), keep dat $8 in your pocket and dont go see it. If you do go and see it, im with you in hoping that it doesn’t hit me right in the child hood…much like that upcoming TMNT movie is going to.

Cameo-Heavy? Preachy against video games? Don’t tell me that’s the reason you’ll hate this movie, its got a lot of things going for it besides bringing back 2d animation in a 3d coating, and many nostalgic memories reborn. If they think violent video games are bad, that doesn’t seperate how good the movie will be to the supposed “Message”, just ignore it and lighten up, especially if you like previous works, and if you like video games as well.
(Note for anyone calling me a hypocrite, I never said I hated the movie, I just said I wasn’t looking forward to the final product back THEN)

Despicable Me is good as a family film, not much adult humor, but still enjoyable, and Meet the Robinsons’s villain was a bit silly and farfetched, but the build ups and the twists are kind of satisfying, with humor and dark themes ahead. I would personally check them out one day.

Jackie Chan did Shang in the chinese version! /justfeltlikesayingthatbecauseithinkit’sawesome]
